I'm a Port man and I would advise against this idea. Not that its a horrible one -- it may pay off short term -- but ultimately he's highly unlikely to be a top 8 MID at season's end. Kane has always been a ball magnet with a huge engine and, yes, he does have a bit more freedom in the current setup, but sooner or later he WILL be given shutdown roles. He's clearly Port's best tagger and I can't imagine Hinkley ignoring this fact if and when guys like Pendlebury, Mitchell, JPK start going nuts on us. Would be very careful if you are keen to pick him up.
