So I have been quiet content with GAJ, but I started re-calling why I was so keen on Beams...
He's a machine, he had an injury interrupted pre-season last year and started with iffy scores of: 74, 93, 85
From there he averaged 122 over the remaining 18 games with a high of 155, and dropped below the ton once for a score of 78 when tagged by Carrots (also the only game he didn't hit the scoreboard in anyway)...
Dont be afraid by tags though, he usually destroys them:
117, 129 ,117 (SF)  against Scooter
113 against Crowley
Should miss the tag with Pendles fit in 2013
...
Sure GAJ can go 170+, but that is what Swanny is for, Beams is good for a score over 110 which he managed 83% of the time over the last 18 games compared to GAJ who reached that 110+ mark 60% of the time

I'm going for GAJ personally. I think he'll average 5+ more and I'd feel much safer to have him in my side from the start, rather than find a way to get him in.

You're obviously a big Beamer fan though, so if you reckon he can continue to improve, back him in. :) I'm gonna see how he goes first before paying 599k. Got burnt by Rocky last year, so sticking to the proven guns in the midfield to start with.

I have the cash for Ablett but i'm choosing Beams. The whole Ablett not doing as much has scared me off him a bit and i'm just really keen to grab Beams.

Gold Coast simply can't afford to have Ablett spending more time up forward. They'll get absolutely hammered through the middle.

The same thing was said about Swanny last year and what did he do? improved his average by 10 points. Obviously I don't expect Ablett to improve that much, mabye won't improve at all... but you know he's a sure thing top 3 midfielder and he'll average 116-118 at absolute minimum IMO. Lock.

Exactly Adamant, every year its the same reports and articles. GAJ will smash it and be a 5 point better player than Beams
