Obviously i'll need to wait on teams but what do you think? I'm thinking of maybe Cornelious as a POD + Jones V Lee + Stevens + 85k.

Why no Pettard or Karnezis - do you already have them in your forward line or just want something different??

Sorry already have them :)

Interesting one - not all that keen on Stevens to be honest.
Will be a decent pick, but is he going to be that much better than a bottom priced rook (M.Jones) - probably not!
And then comes the other issue - forward rooks. Don't bet on one popping up before the end of round one and if so then you would think it would be a temporary role.

Keeping in mind mid-rookies score the best and will most probably be popping up throughout the year - downgrading a mid is much easier.
Therefore a mid-rookie and mid-priced fwd should be your best bet.

I think M.Jones and maybe a Varcoe/Byrnes should be fine. At least you know they will play every week and scoring will be ok without being great. If there is another that comes to mind (Cornelious) then by all means get on board.

I know its only one game but i bet you wish you had grabbed JJKennedy!

Good luck this week

Jones JS - vs Viney, Toumpas fellow rookies?

Boyd out gives Stevens better JS.

Yeah JJK's game was good but keep in mind 80 out of his 109 came in 1 half when Dawson was on him. In the second half a half decent McPharlin moved onto him and only score 29 in a half. I'm sticking by my decision of a POD in Cornelius over him, 109 is very achievable especially against the Doggies, the Lions Mid's will slaughter the Doggies Mids and will get plenty of supply up Fwd. I wouldn't be too surprised if he pulled out a 120, but what i'm hoping for is a solid 80 to get things started.

I thought Boyd was only out for 2-3 weeks? Everyone is like Stevens is a must bh because now Boyd is out and he has great JS. What happens when Head to Head comes along and Boydy is back? IMO the mature 26 year old body that Jones comes with has great JS at Melbourne due to their very young immature side.

Which is why I'm taking Jones over K.Mitchell :P K.Stevens is worth the investment, and should he squander his opportunity can easily be downgraded with a 'rookie fix'. It's not so easy to get him if he pulls a 'Curnow/Zorko' off the bat unless you have $70k sitting in the bank.

I'm in the same boat Hawkers.
I'm just waiting to see if Matt Jones is named, before I pick him and if he's named and not as the sub I think he can score just as well as Koby Stevens
