Before we get deep into R1 and beyond, lets see who's advice preseason has/will pay off. Below is a list of some of the most popular Player A v Player B polls/discussion that have been tossed up preseason. If you are willing to back yourself here is the chance to put them all together. Maybe next year, or even during the season, you'll be remembered that little more and your words of wisdom with hold some persuasion. So in bold is the recommendation you would make on the choice presented and in (brackets) who you are would recommend (or take in your own team) in that same bracket:

Mundy vs Fyfe
Danger vs Cotchin (Deledio)
Rockliff vs Zorko
Duffield vs Hartlett vs Hanley (but took the other 2 :P)
Bartel vs Walker (Stevie.J)

And finally the most popular mid-price forwards (note there are 2-3 more that got far less mentions/questions) - pick 3

LeCras vs JJK vs Kennedy vs Varcoe vs Karnezis vs Byrnes (Currently only have Karnezis and am very interested in Harper and Petterd).

I quoted this so I can get them all in.

I thought Mundy would average around 105-110 not the 115 people have him at, but did not pick up either him or Fyfe due to price. Went the cheaper Moloney and if I had the cash/balls probably would have gone Harley Bennell. Would only have gone Fyfe if he still had his DPP. His disposal efficiency has been talked about all pre season and he had poor disposal tonight although he racked it up. I do have Mundy in my draft league though.

Danger/Cotchin I picked neither. I have gone Murphy and Jack over both of them. Beams is the young guy I took. I do think Dangerfield will average more at the end of the season and although he had a poor game he does have the ability to bust scores over 160 to bring his average back up.

I have had Rockliff locked all preseason. I had him in my team last year which was unfortunate since he spent so much time deep forward. I have liked the look of Zorko in the NAB and I might have enough cash to start them both

Hartlett if fit otherwise Hanley for me. I just can't trust Hartletts body. Lyon dropped Duffield last season since his defensive effort was not up to par. He obviously felt he could make an example of him and it still sits in the back of my mind. Hanley has looked the goods at times and should gain some consistency this season running through the guts. My 3 higher priced backs are Goddard, Gibbs and Hibberd however.

Bartel for consistency out of those 2 but Stevie J over both with the time in the guts he is expected. I have Johnson.

Of the mid prices, I said in the Collingwood West Coast NAB thread I would take Lecras if I could, his price worried me, I was trying to free up the cash, I couldn't and with the emergence of Karnezis as an option went with him instead. I dislike Byrnes so never considered him, was looking at Petterd and had him in my team but changed him last minute. Forward line currently looks like this

Cox, Rockliff, Stevie J, Mitch Robinson (temp), JJ Kennedy, Karnezis, Varcoe, Macaffer.

I have Leuenberger in the ruck so the extra mid price forward is insurance. Rowe will come in instead. I can free up some cash if certain rookies don't play to turn Robinson into Zorko/Roughead/Bartel/Lewis. Leaning towards Zorko or Roughy if I have enough otherwise it is Lewis as the cheaper option since I might not have the cash. I am pretty sure that answers them all so far

Hehe you answered the 2nd part but really the 1st. If some1 asked you to pick just 1, for them, only from the options they have given you, who do you believe would do better?

The reason being, there are 2 types of people who seek advice. Those who have their mind set on 1 or 2 players and want confirmation/validation of that player vs another equally popular player.

e.g. I want Pendlebury, but i want to see how many ppl agree with me vs his (relative) equal in Swan.

Then there are those who want some1 in a particular price bracket, and are happy for some1 else to convince them who's the best, but who also pay particular attention to 'unique' alternatives.

e.g. Danger or Cotchin? Then some1 turns and says "Dude, pick Deledio. We all know he's a Jet. He beat them both in is 1st full year in the mids, he'll do it again and you'll be the only guy who has him !!"

Mundy vs Fyfe ......niether
Danger vs Cotchin.....niether
Rockliff vs Zorko......Both
Duffman vs Hartlett ....niether
Bartel vs Walker ....niether
Mid price fwds listed.....Karnezis

Come on ... with a name like that surely you'll back yourself to recommend an alternative :P That is the whole point of the thread. Back yourself for some good advice :)

Also you don't have to back Mundy or Fyfe either, but surely you have an opinion on who you think will take the honours round 23.

yeah no worries  ;)  ......but l didnt see any reference in your original post about projections as far as rnd 23 went

Mundy vs Fyfe ......niether .....* l went for 2 mid-priced options, Moloney & Embley(changed him to Lucas once he was named sub, but could trade him back) because l think they'll score well and be upgraded quickly
Danger vs Cotchin.....niether .....* l went for 4 elites who l think will be in the top 6 come years end - Swan, Ablett, Watson & Pendles
Rockliff vs Zorko......Both
Duffman vs Hartlett ....niether ....* l seriously considered Duffman but went Heppell instead
Bartel vs Walker ....niether ..... *Walker worries me, Bartell is a gun but his scores have graduallly been getting lower, so l have Buddy and Cox as my fwd elites with Rocky and Zorko
Mid price fwds listed.....Karnezis  *out of those listed l went for Karnezis and a risky one in Petterd, if either of these fail they'll be changed for the best perfoming option(s)

as for your question about Mundy and Fyfe....it wouldnt surprise me if Barlow ends up better than both of them come rnd 23

*anyway thats who l've got and my thinking behind my decisions

Was this targeted at me considering I named a bunch of alternatives and went with what I have pretty much said all preseason long?  ???

Mundy and Fyfe
Danger
Zorko and Rocky
Bartel
Karnezis
I also have A. Swallow, Rich, and Harper, and I'm tipping Mark Blicavs to establish himself this season as the greatest Mid/Ruck ever to play the game.
