Mainly going for league win.

DEF:
I've gone for a pretty popular structure in defence with 3 premiums and 3 rookies. It is a risky strategy but given i) the risk of too many mid rookies lowering your scoring potential ii) defence having a lot of good prospective rookies, I think it's the right move. Plus, in my opinion you get the least value for money in defence so you may as well save money here and spend it elsewhere.

I've taken Frost to free up some cash and seeing as he's just been elevated, he should play Rd 1. Also as a key position defender, it's unlikely he'll get the vest. Always good to have warm bodies. The rest of the backs are pretty standard.

MID:
Swan, GAJ and Pendles are locks. I like Dangerfield and JPK at M4 and M5, especially the latter given the Swan's easy start. Mid priced midfielders just seem a bit too risky for mine, and with all the trades, I feel it's best to wait and see who's killing it first and then pick them up, rather than gamble from the start.

I haven't seen Whitfield in many teams yet, which surprises me -  he killed it in the NAB cup and there's plenty of space for him at GWS. Sure he'll be rested every few weeks but with all the other playing rookies in MID in the comp it shouldn't be a problem. I can see him doing a Toby Greene this season so for mine he's worth the extra cash. Certainly more valuable than say Koby Stevens.

RUCKS:
This is probably my least settled line. Bellchambers has grabbed the No.1 spot at Essendon and swings with Ryder to go forward, but is still a bit risky compared to some of the other ruckman. Berger is a lock for mine, reckon he'll get up for Rd. 1.

FWDS:
Chapman will go to Stevie J in Rd 2. Having Cox (and Rowe) means that if Berger or any other ruckman goes down I can pick up an in form forward instead of a ruckman. There's a chance Stringer will get up for Rd 1, but even if he doesn't he'll play this season for sure.

Any advice/criticism is greatly appreciated.

like your team and may follow your rucks IF Leuenburger is named??? and thats a huge IF at the moment.. not sold on Whitfield or Vlastuin but only time will tell. Hanley or Duffield for Grimes and Chappy is getting abit old these days... all in all a good team...  ;)

I agree about chappy- he's just there so I can do a sideway trade to stevie j in rd 2. Grimes is set to play more in the midfield this year so I think I'll stick with him.

If luenberger isn't named I think I'll put him to Petterd and put cox in my rucks, which means ill downgrade bell chambers to kruez.

I might go vlastuin to L. Brown if he's named round 1.
