Really unsure as to this line up:

DEF: Goddard, Shaw, Gibbs, Grimes, Pittard, Docherty, Terlich, Richmond
MIDS: Ablett, Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Cotchin, Fyfe, Crouch, O'Meara, Colquhoun, Mitchell, Viney
RUCKS: Sandilands, Leuenberger, Rowe, Daw
FWD: Cox, Rockcliff, Johnson, Broughton, Mayes, Macaffer, Lee, Sumner

Rem cash: $10,700

Suggestions/Comments please....

Welcome Whippet - is that as in skinny dog or 'whip it out!'.

Your post has been read 20 times for no comment. I think it is because you barrack for Collingwood.

Since Collingwood have never ever beaten the mighty Hawks in a grand final I am happy to comment on your effort.

4 good backs - maybe overspending as you'll see in a few lines.

5 gun mids leaves you one spot short for cash making mid rookies - and there seem to be a lot this year.

Rucks - love them

Fwds - Your weakness with little likelihood that the rookies here will make you as much as a mid rookie - nor score as well. Maybe consider strengthening this line first up as you know you want Buddy at some stage.

Broughton's role is uncertain so watch him as we..

Not a bad team but watch the fact that it looks as though you have gone quite cheap rookies and haven't left yourself much squirm room to get say Wines, Vlastuin, Whitfield etc if they really show value in NAB cup.

Overall really good and you may even have 15 keepers from the get go.

8.6/10

Def: Maybe Downgrade Grimes to Chris Yarran or Atley as you already have 3 premium backs
Mids: Very Solid not Sure why you have gone with Colquhon there are other better options.
Rucks: Standard
Fwds: I would upgrade either Johnson or Broughton to a Premium such as Buddy, Taylor Walker,Dayne Zorko or Jarryd Roughead.
Overall your team is pretty much settle with only a few minor changes to be made

I rate it a 7.5/10

Thanks Doc...

I'll consider losing Fyfe and Broughton, then reloading with some better rookies.

Whippet

Thanks Johnny - I'll get rid of Fyfe in the mids and then use the cash to upgrade Broughton to Rocky, and do some rookie swaps!

Is this better? :

DEF: Goddard, Shaw, Gibbs, Grimes, Vlastuin, Pittard, Docherty, Terlich
MIDS: Ablett, Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Cotchin, Wines, Crouch, O'Meara, Goodes.B, Mitchell, Viney
RUCKS: Sandilands, Leuenberger, Rowe, Daw
FWD: Cox, Rockcliff, Johnson, Zorko, Varcoe, Macaffer, Lee, Sumner

Fyfe -> Wines
Broughton -> Zorko
Ricmond -> Vlastuin
Colquhoun -> Goodes.B
Mayes -> Varcoe

Solid Team now.

Only issue I have is Zorko - (know I am a Brisbane supporter) but believe he is overpriced for a player that has effectively played only 15 games.  Showed some signs of slowing down in last couple of games. Been training with forward group as well. Also will have issues if teams put a tag on him, even in Intra club trial uncapped Docherty ran with him and kept him relatively quiet. Hope I am proven wrong but just a concern I have.
Also slight concern with Johnson watch to see how much mid time given in NAB cup.  Started last season in forawrds and had deflated scores for first 8 rounds.

Whippet

I've always been a fan Ringo, so thanks for your comments

How about Zorko -> Wright

Think I'll stick with Stevie J - I reckon the way he finished last year with that precise disposal out of the back half will keep him scoring highly

Ringo

Zorko to Wright would be acceptable. or any forwards around that price Breust, Martin etc.

johnnytheboy1

With those changes your team has improved vastly Zorko to Wright will save you money may lose a few points but worth the punt.

Whippet

Defenders: Goddard Shaw, Gibbs, Duffield, Vlastuin, Docherty, Stevenson, Terlich
Mids: Ablett, Pendles, Danger, Cotchin, Moloney, Wines, Mitchell, O'Meara, Crouch, Viney
Rucks: Jacobs, Luey, Rowe, Currie
Forwards: Buddy, Cox, Rocky, Kennedy, Karnezis, Macaffer, Kerridge, Neade

Rem Sal cap $11,000

What do I do with Luey? Keep and use Rowe to forwards and cox to rucks to cover? Or trade, and if trade to who?

All thoughts appreciated - I'll return the rate!

Ringo

This is the question that everyone is dealing with.  I would wait and see what transpires for Round 1 with Berger may be able to bench him if Currie or Rowe are named as they will score points as well for you.

If he looks like being out for a while I would look at downgrading Shaw to Yarran or other mid pricer that suits and then seeing what Ruck you can afford with cash generated.  Should be enough to get a reasonable Ruck and implement set and forget Rucks. Reason I picked Shaw is that all three have Round 13 bye and Shaw is the one most likely to do something stupid.
