When it comes to your midfield in SuperCoach, you always have to have a Magpie in there if you want your team to score well. This season three star Magpies are vying for a spot in your team  and I'll go through why you should select each of them.

Dayne Beams
Price:  $657,600
Position: Midfielder
Age:  23
2012 SuperCoach Average: 122
Beams had a massive year in 2012, where he had a break out year. He increased his Supercoach average from a impressive 100  points a game the year before, to a spectacular 122 points a game, making him one of the competitions elite midfielders and at only 23 years olds, he has a bright future ahead of him.
Beams ranked fourth in the competition based on his SuperCoach average and fifth for total points. He was also the leading disposal getter in the competition, which is remarkable, seeing as he started the season slowly. Beams ability to rack up possessions, resulted in some decent scores with Beams having 8 huge SuperCoach score of over 130 points.
Beams is the cheapest of the Magpie star midfielders and will be fairly unique, as other coaches will opt for Dane Swan and Scott Pendlebury.

Scott Pendlebury
Price: $667, 300
Position: Midfielder
Age: 25
2012 SuperCoach Average: 124
He's a classy midfielder and star of the competition, but also a SuperCoach star, averaging over 120 SuperCoach points in the last two years. Pendlebury is a big game player who continually performs on the big stage.
This includes eight scores of over 130 SuperCoach points (including two over 150) last year, while he also only dipped below 100 SuperCoach points three times, which makes him a viable captain choice each week as he is consistent. Even though Pendlebury's year was affected by a leg injury, he was able to overcome it and  still finish with the third highest SuperCoach average in the competition with an average of 124 SuperCoach points.
Pendlebury should be the most popular of the Magpie star midfielders however, meaning you won't get that point of difference against your opponents, like you would get with Dayne Beams or even Dane Swan.

Dane Swan
Price:  $675, 300
Position:  Midfielder
Age: 29
2012 SuperCoach Average: 126
Swan has had another massive year in 2012. It's the fourth year in a row the star midfielder has averaged over 120 SuperCoach points, which makes him a proven gun.
This season Swan averaged 126 SuperCoach points a game, ranked second in the competition, only behind Gary Ablett. He had some huge games where he score over 130 SuperCoach points seven times and over 160 three times and only 3 scores of under 100 points. Due to Swan's incredibly high ceiling, he makes a good captain chcoie, each week. Swan's disposal has been questioned before, but he is able to accumulate possessions, averaging an impressive 34 last year after averaging over 30 disposals in the last four years.
Swan isn't as influential as Pendlebury or Beams, but this means that the opposition taggers rarely go to him, so you can expect a big SuperCoach score each week from him. Swan is the most expensive out of the Collingwood stars, but he also averaged the most out of the three.

The Verdict
Everyone's SuperCoach midfield should contain at least one, if not two Magpie stars. All three of Beams, Pendlebury and Swan would make good midfield options, but if you could only pick one, you can't go past the classy Scott Pendlebury. He may not rack up the numbers like Dane Swan and Dayne Beams, but it's quality over quantity with Pendlebury, who generally uses the ball well and it results in some huge SuperCoach scores.

1. Scott Pendlebury
2. Dane Swan
3. Dayne Beams

Same here. Thinking Pendles will get Swan by a ~2point average by the end of the year.

Grazz

With Pendles being undervalued and his ability in SC well known it has to be Pendle's at #1.
Have him and Swan and if Beams repeats last year i'll be having him after rnd 13.  ;D

I am tossing up between Pendles and Beams. Beams strung some huge scores together last year and in shortened quarters last night had 10 touches and 2 goals in the first.
