Starting Stevie J regardless?

Mr Adams

Is this crazy?

He has been in my team all pre-season until getting rubbed out.

I am thinking have him on my mid bench (given all my bench rookies should play round 1) and then straight in for round 2.

Is anyone else on the same train? Or is this sacrificing too many points in rd 1?

have thought about this to matyr. He was a lock in my side :(
I think if you are only concerned with winning your leagues you can get away with it but its  a big risk if you are going for over all

Mr Adams

True.

It would be the difference between a 100-110 (Stevie J score) compared to a Crouch or Viney who would have to play on field (60-80).

30-50 points is a lot of ground to make up isn't it. Hmmm..

I was thinking this too, with my current line up I could leave him on the bench and play Macaffer, which on guess at averages would get me 70, compared to 105. The others I could get around Stevie Js price I think will average 95-100, meaning I mean out on 25-30 points rnd 1. I think by having stevie j i will make the same number of points back by rnf 4-5 without using a trade. So its a matter of whether I think it's worth it to be ahead of others by rnd 5 who i dont think will be able to trade him by then without wasting a sideways trade.

Well not even a crouch or Viney score. You would have to field a forward rookie. They are hard enough to find let alone trying to find one that will score ok. Plus you are missing missing out on a prem score but hey 30-50 points isnt that bad although I think thats best case scenario. You would hate fro the prem yu were going to get instead of SJ to score 120 and your rookie to only score 40 or something

Nah upgrade target for me him on the bench is throwing away 50 points atleast

obviously the answer lies in your intentions. if youre playing for overall honours then you're just costing yourself 50pts or at the start of the year, when you could just consider him an upgrade target early on. if you're playing to win your leagues then he'll be a nice unique and you'll have saved yourself a trade by starting with him.

Mr Adams

Fever,

I try and aim for both. That is, until I fall so far back that it's impossible to catch the overall leaders, and then focus on league wins.

Billnats,

Bartel is a champ but is ceiling is nowhere near Stevie J's.

could be worth a stab for you then mate
