hey guys, came in late this year, only really started looking at my team when DT opened in Feb, but since then I've been all over fanfooty/dttalk, etc. looking at a different team this year for quite a different competition
throw us some feedback, cheers

BROWNYS BRILLIANT 2013

DEF
Goddard, Gibbs, Birchall, Suban, Vlastuin, B.Goodes
(Docherty, Terlich)

Goddard/Gibbs - pretty easy choices
Birch - its either him or Waters for me - had him last year and he served me well, want to fit Beau in... (maybe 2nd upgrade)
Suban - super preseason and playing more midfield with no Broughton and doubts over Mundy
Vlastuin/Goodes/Docherty/Techlich - standard rookies - Goodes should get upgraded somehow, as a kick in specialist

MID
Ablett, Boyd, Cotchin, Pendlebury, S.Thompson, Embley, Wines, O'Meara
(Viney, Colquhoun)

why not stack your mids with premiums, the cows arent going to be as good as they have been the last two years
Ablett/Cotchin/Pendles - in most teams so easy starters, I'm liking Gaz over Swan atm
Boyd instead of Swan - a bit cheaper, so to throw cash elsewhere, think Boyd can get similar scores, Swan will be my first upgrade
Thommo - looking at alot of teams without him, quite unique and can spank teams
Embley - standard mid-pricer, plus had a stellar preseason, fit as and superb runner who can kick goals, lastly my fav player ;)
Wines/Omeara/Viney - typical rookies - had to fit in thunder thighs Ollie!
Colquhuon - my last mid rookie, looked ok on the w/e - if other better options come up I'll look at them, DPP helps his cause

RUCK
Cox, Leuenberger
(B.Grundy, D.Currie)

Cox - dont know why hes in more fwd lines then ruck, still my N* 1 pick, much better fwd opts than rucks
Bergs - unbelievable cheap, hope he can smash it, and should with no Hudson
Grundy/Currie - best looking ruck rookies - though I know of Grundy's injury concern - will keep eyes open

FWD
Rockliff, Robinson, T.Cloke, J.Kennedy, Varcoe, Byrnes
(Macaffer, T.Lee)

the forward line offers some of the best mid-prices with potential IMO
Rocky & Robbo - both should smash it (no pun on Robbo) - Rocky to bounce back, hopefully the Beams of 2013
T.Cloke - contract done, fighting fit, kicked a few in the 1st NAB hitout, dominates marking contests & should kick 60-70+ this year
JK - if injury free, he'll start off storming (like early 2012), +marks, tackles & can kick bags
Varcoe/Byrnes/Macaffer - all 3 should be new men this year, playing that perfect half forward/midfield role, price should sky
Lee - liked his efforts in the heat against Port - dunno how he'll go with Roo & Kozi - but Saints cant have 5 lil blokes up fwd

$36k lying around

Love this team great job Browny , Suban will improve again this season and also is a unique aswell havn't seen him in any other DT. Very strong mids like the inclusion of Boyd and thommo ,Good rucks,  like the fwd line with cloke and kennedy nice pods and have ability to score good dt points ,,,,,great team mate 9/10  8)

cheers mate, yeh I'm liking a few uniques I got mixed in there with the obvious guys

havent done as much research on the rookies as I usually would but will check the popular ones and the ones in NAB

yorgis

nice team browney, just seems like there might be 1 or 2 too many mid pricers in your forward line. however, in saying that

they could serve you really well. love the pick of suban, just have'nt quite got the B#LLS to hit the T button

whats wrong with that many mid pricers, how i see it whats the point of getting someone like Stevie J or Dusty etc who will get me a 100+ one week then a 50-60 the next, better having a mid premium who will average 110+
get some guys who will play and who usually start well out of the blocks (ie. Kennedy and Varcoe) to make some dough quickly rather than a random rookie who might only play 2 to 3 games out of the first 5 or 6.
and dont know why Cloke isnt in more teams, the only year hes sucked was last year cause of contract issues and Dawes was a poor 2nd target to take the heat off him, he will average 85-90 easy!
Subans cheap and will hopefully hit it this year, with Broughton out

Andrew

I really hope JK is fit and raring to go for the season proper, but he's already "tweaked" an ankle which lead him to missing round 1 of the NAB Cup. I'm keen to fit him in, but he needs to be back to 2011 standard to be worthwhile...

Azzas Dockers

I really like the team, but I am bit a concerned about your forward line.

Swapping a premium mid for B Crouch, and then using the 400k to upgrade a couple mid prices to premium would strengthen your team I think.

I would make the changes and see which team you like more and keep that one

why would i turn a player who could get me 110-130 a week into a rookie (maybe a 50) then turn a player like JK (should get 70s), Varcoe (might push 80s), or Cloke (will get back high 80s-90s) into someone like Buddy or Pav or Chapman or Dusty who wont avg more then 80-90 odd in the first 5-6 weeks?? Id rather have a gun premo mid and a mid pricer/proven forward then some 18yo kid and a boom-or-bust forward

browny_wce

a couple of changes which are sure to raise a few eyebrows
