Would this team work?

hi all,

Have my thoughts on my own team already. But ..............

Without liking alot of forward rookies so far in nab, would stacking the forward/backline work?

for example.

backs:     gaddard, gibbs, heppell, suckling, hartlett, b. goodes (stevenson, terlich
mids:      m.murphy, fyfe, bennell, maloney, embley, lonergan, k.mitchell, crouch ( omeara, viney)
ruck:       Goldstein, leuenberger (rowe, daw)
forwards: cox, chapman, zorko, rockliff, robinson, martin (neade, kennedy)

i know four of the first five mids are not the strongest, i believe they have potential to score well and increase in price. hopefully coinciding with the expensive premiums dropping in price allowing you to pounce. I also see most teams run with 2/3 rooks on the field just like above anyway.

Now, this allows the forward line to be full and the backline to be operating with one rook. stronger back/fwd than normal with potential in the mids.

I know alot of thoughts are the same to drop a prem back for a rookie and drop two forward prems for varcoe or byrnnes or rook etc and upgrade those mids to prems..................Just wandering if this type of thinking may have potential???

For this to work you would have to have at least Swan and Ablett in the mids

Ricochet

You really need a 120+ captain option or you will fall behind quickly.
Murphy and Fyfe aren't quite up to it.
Is there any way you can fit Swan or Ablett in?

whats your reasoning?

been looking at alot of teams just now and they are all scarily similar.

where my eg. team above possibly loses points on 3 to 4 of the first mids compared to swan /ablett, it will make it up and more in other areas. i say this as clearly the mid rooks are where you want rooks on the field and not forward or back due to their poor quality at this stage (my opinion) with potential lower scores or even game time.

possibilities

1. mids with drop points to the likes of swan/ablett.
2. swan/ablett will come down in price. guys above will/should go up in price.
3. fwds above are set and will outscore 2 rooks that most will choose or varcoe/byrnnes/macaffer etc.
4. 5 strong backs will outscore most backlines i have seen.
5. most rookies chosen are mids (better scorers and bigger $ increases) and counting out poor stocks of back/fwd rooks.
etc etc

not saying this is THE team but tweaked could work.

<--------bit bored of my old guns n rooks strategy. Started last year with stacked fwd and backs prem with plenty of mid rooks and came top 500.

its not my team at the moment but just another option i'm looking into.

could alsways drop maloney or embers to a rook top upgrade another to swan or ablet.

like i said, just banged together and requires tweaking

Your not wrong, he is in for a big year. Not sure if he will become elite just yet but the signs are there.

Hope the extra muscle holds those wings in place.

He has enough screws in there to hold them in
