SAM BLEASE has suffered an early setback with an ankle injury forcing the speedster out for four to six weeks.

CYRIL Rioli's pre-season could be over, after the Hawthorn forward suffered a sprained ankle at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.

After scans on Monday morning, Rioli is confined to a moonboot and may not be available to play in any of Hawthorn's remaining three pre-season matches.

Meanwhile, Western Bulldogs fans will be disappointed that Brian Lake won't line up against his old side at Etihad Stadium on Friday night to open round two of the NAB Cup.

The Hawks have confirmed he’s recovering from calf tightness.

"Brian tightened up a bit in the calf during the first game and won't play this week," Evans said.

"We'll see how he goes heading into the third round."

not a huge fan of it, but all my option are dropping like flies. Im already starting chappy (to turn into SJ round 2). Wanted robbo but it means dropping moloney to embley.

Windigo

Pending more NAB form, I'm considering dropping Robbo for Wright.  :-\

EXCITING North Melbourne big man Majak Daw has knee problems and is in doubt for the NAB Cup second round.

Daw developed swelling in both knees after the Kangaroos' wins against Melbourne and Richmond at Etihad Stadium last Friday night.

Coach Brad Scott said the ruckman-forward would need to improve rapidly over the next day or so to be guaranteed a place in the 24-player squad to face the Gold Coast in Townsville on Saturday afternoon.

"We're hopefully Majak will be up and right to play, but he did have some swelling Sunday and Saturday morning,'' Scott said.
