Knights and Byrnes have potential to go 80+ but with both being at new clubs its too hard to gauge at this stage
not Varcoe?
Varcoe 75-80 imo

blues boy

Why not brent staker?

I know he had his knee problem but his surgery went well and will probably only miss round 1 or 2
He is probably more of a bench option though then F5

Jukes

f) none of the above

Can't see any hitting 80, can only see Varcoe going 75+ tbh after the first nab cup round.

So I'd go Varcoe, but preferably none.
So,who's your F5,F6 suggestion than Jukesy?

I have Siposs and Macaffer. Siposs looks a massive chance to go 80+ and bring you a lot of cash, and if he spuds it next two weeks have the spare cash to upgrade to Sylvia/Breust/Broughton. Macaffer's probable 70-80 average is too good to be on the forward bench imo, better spent on the ground and redistribute the money saved on Byrnes/Knights/whoever elsewhere.

Atm I have none have cox roughie zorko rockliff n.roo macaffer - but have only gone 4 premos in the middle

LF

Atm I have Siposs,MacCaffer and Moloney things change tho.

Im not willing to start 3 rooks in my backline so for me i have to have atleast one midpricer in my forward line so i dont weaken my midfield .. im looking at all mentioned .. currently have Varcoe .. Thurlow from the Cats said he was going to play everywhere and we should chuck him in (yes one players opinion doesnt mean much) i also like Byrnes but Nab will help me make my decision and if one stinks it up ill sideways them for the one that does go well.

Alright, time to talk some Dream Team! Travis Varcoe is the most selected player in DT from the Cats, should we all be locking him in?

Lock him in! He will have a massive year and will play all over the ground I think!

Insider out

ok...call me crazy....as many will.

Put all of these guys in your forwards and see how good your team looks on all other lines. With the new rules this is more than ever a money making game. buy low, sell high. The ultimate goal should be to start your team with a balance between scoring potential and price rise.

Everyone has their own strategy - at this stage imho there is no right or wrong.

I think the benefit of the mid pricer and specific to the ones listed is the job security and game time. Kennedy for example is best 22 and will never start as sub - I think he can average 75-80 and most importantly play the first 6 games in a row and pick up a good price rise. This is far better than say a Tory Dickson, Clay Smith, Pederson, Hibbard, Relton, Buckley, etc etc all who all over their first years came in and out randomly leaving us coaches hanging out for cover and a price rise.  (c'mon Relton was funny)

What about the first year rookies that take a while to get going.... high draft picks that show pre season promise but will struggle for a few months.... Last years Coniglio, Shiels, what about Dangerfield, who remembers being burnt by Stephen Hill in his first year?? Ellis and Morris are more good examples - very slow to start last year before they got going.

Take out gws and goldie from last years draft and many first rounders or teams first picks had little impact - many thanks to the sub rule or lack of oportunity;

Below is last years top picks ex gws & gold coast - they didnt exactly set the world on fire....
Chad Wingard
Billy Longer
Sam Docherty
Brandon Ellis
Tom Sheridan
Clay Smith
Brad Mckenzie
Elliot Kavanagh
Hayden Crozier
Tom Mitchell

The Heppells & Barlows of the world are very rare.

In my opinion don't dismiss the mid pricers! dont be afraid to break your structures! If the best value is in the forward line - put them in the forward line........take a risk if you want to win this thing!

+1 another reason to just choose undervalued players

Knights. Fit and at a new club.
New club doesn't necessarily mean better scoring. He might end up being a fwd tagger for all we know. Byrnes is also at a new club. And I think all of them are reasonably fit.

I would rather a player in a Richmond forward line than a melbourne forward line. Richmond were one of the highest DT scoring teams last year and seem to be on the improve.
