Thoughts on my new side after a few slight adjustments?

IMO i currently have the 14 keepers plus Atley (Who may become one) and Brynes. I could go Atley and Byrnes to Docherty and a Fwd premo and that would get me to 15, but ATM i like the two Midpricers.

So what are your thoughts??

Broughton and Byrnes are little risky but could both pay off. Maybe you could swap Byrnes for a rookie and pick up Franklin with the spare cash. But I can't really fault it. Great team.

Not sure I would go with a Heppell D3, plenty of people opting for a 3 gun/3rookie backline, for me Heppell is good but not quite gun category...

Nice mids and similar rucks to mine (I have currie for daw but after last night if Daw is named rd 1 he will probably be it!)

Fwds: I wouldn't bring Buddy in, he surely must drop with the hawks opening 7 games. Dustbin killed me last year so I'm not a fan but guaranteed now I don't have him he'll smash it. Line is maybe slightly weak but I can't see exactly what I would change. Depends how safe you want to be with the mids, could be an option to change one of your prems to a Mundy/Fyfe, and use the money elsewhere but it could work...

Hard to fault this lineup.

Wines and Mitchell both look like jets, but playing in a team that's going to get flogged a bit, seems risky to have the both of them (same could be said for O'Meara and Lonergan), possibly look at Brad Crouch as another rookie alternative.

Thanks guys! your opinions are much appreciated!

I'm pretty sold on Broughton, i got burnt this year but IMO he will go 95+. These are his past season averages:
2009- Avg: 99
2010- Avg: 99
2011- Avg: 93
2012- Avg: 83

He will have greater opportunities at GCS to play his preferred role off half back all year and won't have the Ross Lyon factoring hang over his head. Ball will be down in the back half more often then not, so i won't be surprised if he breaks the 100 mark for the first time, but i think 95 is more realistic. I will swap him down back after a back rookie has fattened up and try to find some cash to switch him to Franklin in for Round 8.

Byrnes has averaged mid 80's on a few occasions and if he can do this then he'll make some nice coin for an upgrade before the byes. IMO a Fwd mid pricer is almost compulsory due to the lack of fwd rookies. I may switch him to Varcoe.

Ive had Heppel in my side both years now and its obviously he is a great talent and with a move to the Midfield and some support from Goddard he will hopefully average much more. He found himself on the 60-70 mark at the half on numerous occasions with a 120-130 being on the cards but he always seemed to slow down at the latter stages of the game. With his 3rd preseason under his belt i see a massive 3rd year breakout as well as a much larger tank resulted in some big scores. IMO he will go between the 92 and 100 mark.

Franklin has never really been in my team and will look to get him in for Round 8

I feel the same way about Martin but i don't want to miss out on his breakout. With his talent he is easily capable of going 105+. but my prediction for him is a 100-102.

I've tried downgrading Murph to Fyfe on many occasions but it only gives me the 100k to spend elsewhere which isnt really enough to do anything major. The only options i can think of is Jacobs to Maric, Atley to Hanley/Duffy or even for a POD go Pittard to Tambling, but ATM having the 5th major mid seems the better option.

I've had Crouch locked in my side for some time now, but after his average performance in the NAB even with no Adelaide Midfield, its got some doubt in my mind. I had an extra 25k in the bank so i decided  to bring in Lonergan for Crouch as his JS seems a little better. But no rookie is locked untill he completion of the NAB

THANKS GUYS
