Matty Wright? Hahaha!

I'd like to see how he goes when Adelaide get their midfield back.

Scott Thompson, Sloane, Vince, Van Berlo, Dangerfield all missing for the Crows ;)

And on Siposs, I wouldn't worry about him and that lockdown role. Clearly it wasn't working and he was looking very good in the BJ role!

heres my thoughts from the first two games guys had to go out so will watch the replay of the 3rd at 9:40pm and edit this then with the rest of my thoughts from that match but until then here is the first 2

Adelaide vs St Kilda

St Kilda
Gwilt - looks the general of the backline team mates look for him for drive from the back half
Ray- played great got a ton of the ball and rd the flight real well
Saad - kicked a early goal before moving up onto a wing looked at home there aswell finding the ball alot
Dennis-Lane - not really a great fantasy option atm but kicked 2 goals and looked settled in the saints forward line
Siposs- was playing more deep backline made a few runs up into the middle beautiful booing kick helps break the lines for the saints (if he can improve could be the next Hurn)

Adelaide
Ellis-Yolmen - Got a bit of it in the first half in tight close contests looked unnerved and settled with some nice skills
Crouch- lock this boy in looked settled looked ready and will play
Wright- flew a little under the radar but i did like the look of his work and shall continue after his great season of last year
Tambling surprisingly he went nuts on a HB line was getting the pill left right and center. though his disposal let him down big time

StKilda VS Port Adelaide

St Kilda
Hickey- With Mcevoy not playing this game hickey had more time to shine and he looked good in the ruck contests and good marking hands around the ground
not a whole lot else for them they were dominated

Port Adelaide
Wines- just like crouch looked at home loved his goal was quick to respond to the play on call and settled before driving it home poised and composed and ready to roll
Pittard- in the first half started down back and done some nice drive out of Def in 2nd half pushed up further and kept on driving found it quite a bit and looked good
Mitchell- the mature age recruit last year's sandover medalist look quite at home running through the midfield weather he starts round 1 or later could be a great pick
Neade- Scrawny little guy like a stick but lively and presents finds heaps of it and even showed he has a good footy brain
Harlett - if he can stay injury free this season just might be his time to shine

Edit: the other game done now

Adelaide vs Port Adelaide

Adelaide
Crouch - Finding alot more of it now - lock him in
Tambling -  getting heaps of it again his disposal to start with still poor but improved in 2nd half
Wright - just went again under the radar accumalating touches
Jenkins - provided a great target forward some good marks and good leads but his goal kicking let him down

Port Adelaide
Harlett - looked good when he got it problem fantasy wise was seemed to be playing deep in the backline
Pittard- again provided some good drive from the backline
Mitchell- was in and around the ball a fair bit again made some poor decisions though

Hahaha at the people dropping Embers/Lee/Siposs after one poor showing in 40 minutes nab cup matches.

You picked them for a reason. Back yourself ;)

Agreed. There are so many external factors on these shortened games (iet fatigue, messing around with structure/roles) that you can't really judge players from their score.

Would only be worrying about Siposs and Embers if they don't perform in their next few nab cup matches.
+1

Obviously with one game your not going to tear your side up - but you would be mad to go with your side you picked in feb. lol

We will get a better gauge of our selection once they start playing full games. Nothing wrong with having a play with ya team :)

If there is enough quality rookies in the middle obviously guys like embley will feature in less sides.

+1 Ele,spot on mate. Its like trading out blokes in rd2 when you have backed them in all summer.

Nice to see Mitchell get plenty of the ball but unless he improves his efficiency he won't be getting elevated off the rookie list anytime soon.

Pfft, who would do that? ::)

I may or may not have traded out Sam Blease after one week last year after backing him in all off-season
Leader of the King Karl Amon fan club
Coach of WXV side Rio De Janeiro Jaguars
2023 SC: Rank 126
