My biggest concern from day one was where will Port get its supporter base from to become a viable operation long term. I love the rivalry between Port and the Crows and hope it continues forever and a day but in all honesty it was a mistake to give the second licence to a side in SA that is either loved or despised, theres not alot of middle ground. The AFL created the mess now they have to be there for the long haul to ensure Ports survival or atleast i hope they do. I also think the AFL should of granted Tassie a licence before GWS as the same issue will occur with GWS but the AFL still see NRL as a threat whereas i dont see the NRL ever threatening Aussie rules. Tassie would of been self sufficient from the get go but no the AFL in their wisdom decided to prop up another team for a couple of decades.
