Hows this!??

Backs- Goddard, Gibbs, Birchall, A Otten, J Russell, B Goodes ( Staker, Docherty)
Mids- Prendlebury, Dangerfield, Murphy, Fyfe, Gaff, Wines, Crouch, O'Meara (T Mitchell, Viney)
Ruck- Jenkins, Leuenberger (Rowe, Currie)
Forwards- Franklin, Cox, J Riewoldt, LeCras, Varcoe, Macaffer (T Lee, B Kennedy)

Any advice would be appreciated. I know my ruck isn't too strong but I'd rather put the money elsewhere. I'm thinking I may need to upgrade Gibbs to Shaw or Scotland? And maybe Riewoldt to I don't know who. I have $418k left and I want to keep it around that.

FactHunt

- Keep Gibbs, reckon he'll score better than Shaw and Scotty this year anyway. Interesting POD with both Otten and Russell... personally would try one but not both these guys.

- No GAJ. Crazy. Rest looks good here.

- Reckon you need to pick a potential top 3 ruck to go with Leuy from the start... that being said there are plenty of trades to use this year, it may work out if you can make a few $$ on Jenkins then upgrade? not sure on that one.

- Is it Nick or Jack? Riewoldt seems to be a POD from what I've seen of other teams on here- I don't have SC gold so not sure what % of teams he is in. He's a tough one though- scores well when he's on, but i reckon the saints might struggle this year- making it harder for nice consistent scores. But with some risk comes reward. Personally I reckon Rockliff will explode again this year- he is underpriced IMO.

Made one change already. I'm planning on looking at GAj a few rounds in after his price has calmed down, and yes that is the plan with the rucks at this stage.

Why keep so much money in reserve?

I guess you can't be considering overall position?

Money = points!!

Gibbs is good. Not Shaw about Shaw.

Ruck strategy ensures you're going to sacrifice a few extra trades which then puts you behind further.

Good luck

The rucks might work out and I won't need to trade at all but we'll se how that goes. I want to save that money for now so I can trade GAj in a few rounds in.

My concern regarding that strategy is how much will you really save on Ablett.

If he's your captain early and kills it you'll be win win.

If he isn't in your team then you'll be introuble both in point sand affording him.

If he flops early, you'll pick him up a bit cheaper later, but by holding the money you'll still be missing out on points in the meantime.

If he flops, why would you get him then anyway?

That team you've poted has 8 proven premiums. A lot have 12, 13 or even 14.

Good luck.

Jenkins a top 5 ruck? Not likely.

Swan, Ablett, JPK, Cotchin, Watson, Selwood, Beams, Deledio, H Shaw, Hanley, Heppell, Scotland, Buddy, Rocky, Zorko, Walker, Hawkins, Sandi, Ryder, mcEvoy etc etc - all missing.

You're going to need roughly 1.66 trades per upgrade which means you've burnt 23.24 (roughly) before injuries, resting, form slumps, suspensions are taken into consideration.

Might work starting so few potential keepers.

I am sorry. I know I am opinionated but that's why I am so popular with myself.  ::)

Def - good except Staker - injured for a while.

Mids - A bit on the soft side with many teams having 4 top or 4 1/2 even. A lot of uncertainty around Murphy and Fyfe and their ceilings.Prefer JPK, Cotchin, Swan or GAJ and a rookie in there instead of Fyfe/Murphy and Gaff.

Cox HAS to be a forward. Not enough really consistent top forwards this year. Consider McEvoy, Jacobs, Sandi and everyone's favorite bargain Goldstein.

Cox to the front Darling - out.

Byrnes looks likely at the price.

Looking more like my team so much better.  :P

Good luck

A bit too much mid price madness, esp. Fwd.
i dont mind a cheap ruck set provided it gives you advantage elsewhere but im not seeing it.  Id expect a five premo midfield with cheap rucks to balance the scoring loss.
Do like your premium picks though. Good solid start, keep working on it.

This team is unbalanced has too many midpriced unique picks.
Backs I would replace Otten with Yarran and downgrade Russell to Terlich replace Staker with Vlastuin
Mids: I would Keep Fyfe but upgrade Gaff. Otherwise Good Mids:
Rucks: Standard
Fwds: Wouldn't have both Darling & Lecras keep Le Cras as he is cheaper.

Overall well structured side with a couple of POD give it a 7/10

Darling to Walker.
Otten to pierce.
Russell to van unen.
This puts Docherty in my starting 22 which I'm not keen on but I'll keep an eye on him during the na cup
