Chad Wingard 2013 predicted avg

Hi All

I have been looking at this guy as a low price cash cow. He had 5 vests in 19 games in his first year for an avg of around 50. He must have good JS as Port will have up to half a dozen first gamers in their rd1 side.

Will he give me better points than a rookie with similar $ increase

Can he average 85 - 90, especially in the first half of the season?

Put simply, no.

He is a gun, will be a future brownlow winner. But as far as DT goes, he will not get more touches than a basement priced rookie

Okay let me put it like this.

He only got the vest in those 5 games because he lacked match fitness coming into the season with an interrupted pre season

He spent most of his playing time up front playing either as the forward pocket or the half forward flank because Gray went down.

Monfires coming to the club and Gray returning from injury and the recruitment of Neade is huge to the Wingard development

Has been training the house down and improving his tackling which counts for a lot of points.

Will barely see the vest this season.

His last 3 games he played all in the middle and ended the season with a 74 average over those last 3 games.

Will be a better pick than most rookies.

Noz - yes i figured he would be unlucky to find the vest this year with your young list.  Therefore he was of some value, but I didnt know much about him.

surely with natural progression and more mid time - and hopefully a more competitive team he can crank out a few big scores.

The other player I looked at was Clay Smith at the same price- similar situation with 5 vests last year - but he is very much an inside player and they tend to have worse DE - I think he is also value but perhaps not as much as Wingard. The Dogs also have a very tough start and dont play any of last years bottom 5 until at least rd 9.

Hmmm - think I just made up my mind

Gaff had a similar first year ave thanks to vests also, look what he did last year ;)  80+ is achievable
