Pretty close, any thoughts?

Admittedly, a few issues but just a bit of a rough first draft. Major issues I have are down back and up forward. Down back concerned a little about the lack of depth (and yes, Yarran!), while up forward the major concern is the amount of players I have cheap, returning from injury and a huge risk for the amount I have taken. Any thoughts or ideas would be most appreciated.

Back - Goddard, Shaw, Yarran, Pederson, Thurlow, Colquhoun, Docherty, Terlich
Mid - Ablett, Swan, Selwood, Fyfe, Moloney, O'Meara, Viney, Crouch, Jones
Ruck - Goldstein, Leuenberger, Witts, Currie
Fwd - Franklin, Johnson, Martin, LeCras, Gray, Macaffer, Kerridge, Lee

Naturally, if you feel like rating mine, I will try my hardest to give you my opinion on yours :)

FactHunt

I think that you are a bit weak down back- even if Yarran consistently hits scores that we know he is capable of I feel you need another GUN here.

Mids are excellent.

Standard Ruck combo that I've seen.. I would consider the DPP option with either of Cox or Ryder and a rookie like Rowe on the bench in case Leuy breaks down coming back from injury. (or if Goldy breaks down, not that i wanna jinx him but the big men do it pretty hard injury wise... it's nice to have back up)

Forwards- Gray is still slow to return, don't see him playing for a while yet. I feel that you need another GUN here too.

*Suggest downgrading Moloney for cash- plenty of good looking cheap options in the MIDS, just watch NAB (e.g.. Wines, K.Mitchell, Goodes) and upgrade Pedersen and/or Gray.

Ringo

Solid base team to work with

Def: Yarran at D3 is a risk would prefer at D4 Not sold on Pedersen
Mids: Solid - Moloney a bit expensive for M6
Rucks: Standard
Fwds: Risky with Lecras and Gray.

Suggestions - Downgrade Moloney to Ball, Embley or Rookie more cash gain here
Gray to a Varcoe/Byrnes or a rookie as he is not playing til May according to reports.
Upgrade Pedersen to a prem defender of your choice
Upgrade Le Cras to another Prem forward of your choice.
Will make team more balanced

Nice Start and good luck Team Rating 6.75/10.

Reckon Johnson, LeCras, gray & Martin is a fairly risky/inconsistent forward line. Would prob go with two of these guys at most.
Mids look good.

Peace

havent read other replies yet, but you have way too many midprice players. you can have a couple of exceptions, but generally a premium/rookie selection process is better.

i suggest combining yarran and pederson into gibbs and lecras and grey into rockliff/cox/walker/rioli (in fact, dont know bout martin (remember the pain last year???), i'd be inclined to upgrade him to rockliff regardless).

johnnytheboy1

Def: Is fairly weak need a premium at D3. Leave Pederson out and make Yarran D4
Mids: Solid but  You have spent too much here downgrade Moloney to of Lonergan or Hrovat
Rucks: Standard
Fwds: Strong here but a few changes which i will mention below need to be made

I Would downgrade Robbie Gray to one of Varcoe, Byrnes or if you want a Cheaper option Stringer of the Bulldogs.
Then Upgrade Le Cras to Rockliff or someone else that you prefer.

I give your team an 7/10

Pederson out for Broughton

Comfortable with the Mids.

Gray gone for Stringer, extra money plus reserve cash used to upgrade Martin to Cox. Would like to have a little more in the bank, preferably an extra 50K but I think Moloney will be the only one I can steal that from.

RedCats

OK, not sure if I am a little top heavy or not. Thinking this looks a little better. Downgraded Moloney to Wines, upgraded Fyfe to Kennedy. Any thoughts or comments will be hugely appreciated.

Ringo

Solid team now with changes made.,

Only change I would consider is downgrading le cras to Varcoe, Byrnes or JJ Kennedy.  Will give you cash to work with. Use Cash then to upgrade Goldstein to a prem ruck.

Rate Team 8.5/10

ando_10

backs: not bad. dont know much about thurlow. broughton could bring you big headaches or could pay off as could yarran.

mids: solid no fault there

rucks: standard but good

forwards: dont have many problems there unsure how many games kerridge will get. lecras is one im really unsure about but solid none the less

Nice but

Gibbs needs to be considered. If he plays basically as a mid in mad Mick's machine, then he is a must.

Thurlow - tell us more. Pittard is being talked up - check him out during NAB.

5 premiums is too many mids for me this year.  Lots of cash to be made with rookies in there. Saving here early allow Gibbs to come in.

Rucks - fascinating. I'd written Goldy off (just as Ringo seems to have) BUT read the thread and now I have no idea.

A DPP with Cox might be useful and you can sacrifice R4 usually to achieve this - ? Rowe or MrBean.

Forwards need bolstering with not much money on offer by the looks. Le Cras looks cheap but is he 15 ppg better than Kennedy. Kennedy seems even more tempting and with monies saved you can get rid of Stringer and upgrade to a premium I think.

So have a fiddle and see what you come up with.

Thanks for the replies. I'll start with Thurlow, picked up by Geelong in the first round last year, trained the house down and is looking like getting a run this year. Given the aging backline, with the need for a new look backline he should get a few games and has been talked about getting a run round 1. I took him out, simply because Geelong don't give first year rookies long runs. He may get a few but will no doubt find himself in the VFL for the majority of the season.

OK, now to the sweeping changes I decided to look at. Took on Ringo's advice and decided to drop LeCras and replace with Varcoe who I wanted in my team since day one. He is looking pretty good to go up considerably in value. Taking a couple of risks in the team, so need to see how Goldy goes and stick with the reliable scorer in Sandi.

Backs - Figured there is no point having Broughton and Yarran. Two maybe players who can seriously burn you (it's happened before!). Let's give Gibbs a run and throw Watts in there. Willing to give Watts a ride and see how it goes.

Mids - Dropped Cotch, leave him for an upgrade target and brought in Cunnington as a bit of a unique pick and am willing to take the gamble on him stepping up this year. Probably as good a bet as Fyfe, I think maybe better.

Rucks - Sandi in Goldy out.

Fwds - Probably the weakest line. LeCras gone, Varcoe in. Expecting a bit of run out of half back with Varcoe this year and hoping he settles in to a permanent role. If so, should score nicely and make me some good $.

Rookies are obviously not finalised until teams are named for round one pretty much. Will try and get as much NAB cup info as I can (I don't live in Aus and get very limited NAB cup coverage which sucks.) Give us your thoughts on these changes. It looks pretty well balanced now and am just about completely satisfied. Happy to have a couple of different picks to most as well.  Plenty of cash left to play with to get it spot on.

Other interesting one that I haven't seen many with is Mitchell in the mids instead of Wines. Any one able to tell me why he isn't in more teams, perhaps injured or something?

Ringo

Mitchell is still officially on Ports rookies list and needs to be elevated.  If elevated I think you will see him in a lot of teams. Elevation would appear to be between Pfeiffer and Mitchell.
