Is this to extreme?

I've had the 4 premo Mids and either Mundy/Ball for quite some time now but after the recent news of Salter's injury, Mitchell's chance of playing Round 1 has sky rocketed and so has me wanted to get him in. But i just can't kick out any other of my rookies who will all average pretty high too. So i've decided to drop Mundy for Mitchell and pocket the 350k to make my Mids look like this:

Mids: Ablett, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Cotchin, Wines, Mitchell, O'Meara, Viney (Lonergan, Crouch)

Is this to extreme or do you guys think its alright to run with? Keeping in mind it means i don't need to play a Fwd rookie, and still will be able to have 4 premo Backs and a premo ruck.

Thanks Hawkers!

It depends on what your aims are for the year.

If you're going for the ultimate bragging rights - the league win over your mates - then it's not a bad strategy, as you'll end up with all of those players gaining you a lot of money, allowing more upgrades giving you a strong end-of-season team.

If you want to be in the running for the $50k, not so much. You'll lose out on a lot of points from the mids for a large chunk of time at the start of the season, and more than likely will be too far behind to make up that ground.

So it really depends on what you want out of your year.

You will change your mind on what rookies you want at least 10 times during the nab cup so I wouldnt worry about it just yet

That's fine I reckon. Mitchell should score well being mature aged recruit, who's been dominating in the WAFL.
Also I like your four premuim mids in Ablett, Pendles, Cotchin and JPK. The same four I'll probably have in my team  :)

That strategy could easily work if you are going for league. You have 4 very good premiums there and all of those rookies will make you a heap of cash in the first half of the season. Also you get to spend that cash in other places, so sound thinking behind it.

Cheers guys, i think i'll just go for 5 my league wins, including one from this site and let you guys have a chance at the 50k  ;)

If all 6 of those rookies get early games, then it's not too extreme. More than likely, one or two of those will not be selected and either you will have to go with Mundy, or maybe get another mid rookie if available. I personally like stacking your mids with rookies because you can make a heap of cash in developing your FWD and back lines early.

Right now I've got 3 starting first year players, probably going to stick with that.
