D4/M5 decisions

I'm torn between where I should investmore money, mids or defence.
Currently D1-4 are Goddard, Gibbs, Duffman and rookie D/F (Jaksch at the moment)
and M1-5 are GAJ, Pendles, JPK, Jelwood and Cotchin

However I'm considering swapping Cotchin to Ball and the rookie D/F to Birchall. The D/F was nice as I have staker in fwds but I'm not that sold on Broughton... So lose the D/F and lose Cotchin for a money maker in Ball, hopefully get him in later in the season.

Essentially, would you rather have Cotchin or Birchall as an upgrade target?

I think backs need at least 3.5 premiums (Goddard, Gibbs, Hanley, Yarran for me).

Mids look pretty strong already with a good choice of premiums.

I would get a recognized premium in at D4 if I were you
