DPPs in the Centre?

This might be a strategy question rather than players and Trades - not sure.

I'm refining my team (version 241 LOL) and find I've got plenty of DPPs, but none in the Centre positions. They're all single position players. Specialists, I suppose.

Is it worth manouvering a couple of DPPs into the starting Midfield, even if it means dropping somesingle position mids?

Cheers.

Now that there is the best 18 rule, i don't see it as important as previous years. I currently have the 2 DPP link in: Rowe (Ruc) + Cox (Fwd) as well as Broughton (Back) + Staker (Fwd). To answer your question, IMO it isn't worth putting some DPP into the middle as they often aren't the best option. The only player i would consider to put in there is Rocky, because he has shown us he can average a premium Mid score with around 114 (Not 100% sure) and hopefully can recapture that form this year.

Don't forget, with the new trading rules that came into affect for last season, when making a trade you can, for instance, trade in a (mid), move your DPP (mid/fwd) into the forward line, trading out a (fwd). SO, just because you are starting say...Stevie J as a midfielder, it does not mean that he has to remain ther all season long, even if you don't have a corresponding DPP in your side to substitute him with. You can move him forward via trade at some point throughout the season. Just something to ponder.

As per both comments above DPP not as important as in previous years.  I myself will probably only have R/F DPP as security. Trade room and best 18 scores will give you the opportunity to pick a really strong team along with the extra trades,

I will have dpp links between nearly every position. Round 1 named rookies do not always play on, or play on well. More importantly with the 30 trades this season I am leaving myself maximum flexibility. Considering the rolling lockouts, it is also beneficial to have maximum flexibility in your team. As per the byes, they are a
long way away and by then your team should be well on its way and the DPP links won't be so important.

Have never worried about dpp's in the midfield. Get the best players available in there
