CASH LEFT: $0

Here's my new favourite team, made post VS rule changes. I've started a couple of speculative premiums (red) who I hope will at least nudge for top 10 ranking in their respective lines.
I've loaded up in the mids - all $550k plus and share the Rnd 13 bye - as I think the new 2-trade rule will give me more flexibility to either trade down to cheaper premiums who have increased their output (i.e. if Redden fires) or sideways to avoid problems over the MBR.
Defensive rookies to me look better than forward rookies this year, so I've loaded up there - but left two DEF/FWD DPP players in the forward line in case that plan goes to pot.
I'm a little surprised that Zorko and Maric aren't getting much love either as I see neither heading backwards in 2013.
No money in the bank either, as I drafted the more expensive rookies (above $120k) in both fwd and back lines and started with Embley - his upside is amazing. If Embers flops then he will be downgraded to the best performing MID rookie prior to Rnd 3. Same goes with any of the other higher priced rookies.

What are peoples' thoughts?

I dont mind your unique premo's they have potential Brisbane have pretty good fixtures early and late

I think the reason behind not much Maric love is the fact Goldy is only 400k with H.Mac leaving you would think he will return to his best after a few injuries and sickness he had last year

I cant go past Embley at that price and if it fails then like you say just dump him for the next best rook on offer.

MBR strategy is sound, you can sideways to quality premo's in Boyd,Cotchin,Redden .....

A little weak in the backline but there is room to move with your DPP's like you said

A unique team and strategy .. i like it . good luck

your 5 midfield premiums all have the round 13 bye. although you might be able to still get 18 on the park, you will have 5 of your best scorers out, meaning you might not have a viable captain option and wont have your trustworthy 110+ point scorers on the field (obviously you will start upgrading by that time but still, 5 out in the midfield hurts)

I guess you didnt read his strategy for the MBR's  .. something along the lines of sideways trading to maximise his points scored on all 3 MBR's  ;)

Yep!
The way I see it, there is likely to be at least one non-Rnd 13 premium who really steps up this season. They'll be my sideways targets prior to the byes.

I never really thought of it until I looked at your team and strategy. But playing DT this year is pretty much like a stock trading market. If done right you could almost have too much cash...  :-\

If you keep trading players non stop even just 20k/30k here and there can make a difference.

Sorry not much help to your team though. :P Just interesting I thought.

Difference being

A. Nobody like an accountant/buisnessman

B. Players aren't stocks, they're people, allowing for interpritation and oppinion ;)
