Royalz  Salary cap left: $11,700.

Brendon Goddard, Bryce Gibbs, Dyson Heppell, Hamish Hartlett, Greg Broughton, Daniel Nicholson
Brent Staker, Sam Colquhoun

Dane Swan, Dayne Beams, Marc Murphy, Brett Goodes, Kane Mitchell, Brad Crouch, Jaeger O'Meara, Dean Towers
Matt Jones, Jack Viney

Todd Goldstein, Matthew Leuenberger
Brodie Grundy, Liam McBean

Lance Franklin, Dayne Zorko, Tom Rockliff, Nic Naitanui, Dustin Martin, Nathan Bock
Tom Lee, Sam Dwyer
Defs: Goddard and Gibbs are obvious picks. Heppell will be slightly unique, and he'll go bang. Love that pick. Hartlett and Broughton contain some risk, but for different reasons. Dan Nicholson is a good choice for smokey, Staker and Colquhoon are good picks. A strong line with a smokey D6. 9/10

Mids: Swan and Beams are good perma-captain options. As could be Murphy... but then look at the rooks! Of the ones you have here, I really like Crouch, O'Meara, Viney, Mitchell and Goodes. Towers simply won't break into the Swans' midfield. Matt Jones would have to do heaps to be named imo. A low score because you're one premo short. 7.5/10

Rucks: Solid. I see how McBean is in there for the F/R, but I think Sam Rowe is a better option. 8/10

Fwds: Your top 5 are good, although I have my misgivings about Buddy. Wait and see on Bock's leg. And I haven't heard much on Sam Dwyer, averaged 90 in VFL, but can he break into the Pies lineup? 8.5/10

Overall: 8.25/10 You've underdone your mids to stack your fwds and backs. This is an alright strategy, but you need to use this opportunity to bring in the best. Players like Martin and Broughton could possibly be changed up. But this is a fairly minor thing. An above par team. Good luck! :)

Sam Colquhoun (B/C), Dean Terlich

Dayne Beams, Trent Cotchin, Scott Pendlebury, Marc Murphy, David Mundy, Sam Mayes (C/F), Brett Goodes (B/C), Brad Crouch

Todd Goldstein, Matthew Leuenberger
Broadie Grundy, Max Gawn

Dale Thomas (C/F), Mitch Robinson (C/F), Tom Rockliff (C/F), Colin Sylvia (C/F), Travis Varcoe (C/F), Brent Macaffer
Brent Staker (F/B), Tom Lee

Byes: 4/2/2 - 4/1/5 - 1/2/1 - 2/3/3 = 11/8/11

Starting without Gaz, Swanny, BJ or Buddy.
RISKY, i know but the team is pretty even across the board, and all linked up (no ruck/FWD link)

Before we begin, let me say that I don't mind you having any of those four. So long as you're not totally writing them off ;)

Def: Above strength. Having both Grimes and Hartlett must give you heart problems! For your health, I might consider an alternative! Broughton should do well, but there is certainly no guarantee. Good rooks, but wait for NAB until you are more certain of JS. Oh, and love the Duffield pick :) 9/10

Mids: You have Beams, Cotch, Murphy and Pendles who can be captain options. But Swan and GAJ MUST be upgrade targets. I like the Mundy pick, should gain enough cash to quickly become Swan/GAJ or even become a keeper. You will be behind from the rest of the pack if you don't have at least one of these two from the start. I would be wary of Mayes. Other than Zorko, Voss has a poor record with rookies. I know that he and also Goodes are there for DPP, but consider whether the potential points loss is worth it. Personally, I'd rather a higher scoring mid only rookie, and trust that the other rookies I pick in my fwds and backs will actually play. Crouch, O'Meara and Viney should be in any serious team. This score probably should be a bit higher, but with no Swan/GAJ, plus slightly weaker rookies (albeit for DPP), it's a bit lower. 8.25/10

Rucks: Goldy and Leuy are good picks. I like the pick of Gawn (he's a tall freak!), but I think Witts will be higher up the pecking order than Grundy. Again, wait and see how they perform in NAB, and simply select whoever is named first :) 8.5/10

Fwds: Thomas, Robbo, Rocky are solid picks. Most of them should average towards 100. I really like Sylvia. With Dawes and maybe Pedo going down fwd, Sylvia should be unleashed in the mids where he belongs. There's been a bit of love for Varcoe around these parts, but I personally can't see myself spending $230k on him. Macaffer's JS should be alright, and your other rookies are really good. A strong line, with strong JS. 9/10
PS. I really like that you haven't selected Buddy  ;)  ;D

Overall: This is a great team. Your backs and fwds are strong, and so are your mids, despite not having GAJ or Swanny. Definitely above par. 8.69/10

Would love to know your thoughts on this team, complete guns n rooks

DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, H. Hartlett, G. Broughton, J. Pittard, S. Docherty (S. Colquhoun, D. Terlich)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, T. Cotchin, S. Pendlebury, M. Murphy, D. Mundy, O. Wines, J. O'Meara, B. Crouch (N. Hrovat, J. Viney)
RUC: T. Goldstein, M. Leuenberger (M. Daw, L. McBean)
FWD: T. Rockliff, D. Thomas, M. Robinson, N. Naitanui, D. Martin, B. Macaffer (B. Staker, T. Lee)
CASH LEFT: $3,700
Backs: God and Gibbs, woohoo! Hartlett and Broughton contain risk, but if they work, then you've got two premos at $40-50k less than the others. Pittard is a good choice; I was hoping he'd be a bit more unique due to his price rise, but anyway... Your other rookies are good. Due to the risk of the Broughton/Hamstring Hartlett combo, I'll give it 7.5/10
Mids: Nice and strong. Most serious teams should have one or both of Pendles or Murphy, they are both underpriced. Mundy is a solid choice, but I think that the M5 is a huge opportunity to go unique. Perhaps someone like, erm... Actually, I mightn't give you too much advice on that front. If I stuff up...  :-\ Your rookies are all gooood :) Kane Mitchell is an option if Hrovat isn't named. 9/10
Rucks: Solid, not unique, but can't really fault. The DPP link is a plus, but Sammy Rowe is soooo much more likely to get a game. Check Mr Craig's article on McBean. He's 203cm and only 86kg!  8.5/10
Fwds: Love your top 3. Naitanui is there for DPP, but will he be in your top 6 fwds or top 2 rucks? Possibly, not definitely. Martin is a good pick. Macaffer and your rooks are good. 9/10
Overall: Very good mids and fwds. Just a little bit of work on your backs IMO, but yeah, woo! 8.5/10
