Decided to start up a thread for the changes i make throughout pre-season now we have the prices and my justifications for the players i have picked so far.

DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, J. Grimes, G. Broughton, J. Pittard, D. Terlich (L. Stevenson, L. Osborne)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, J. Kennedy, T. Cotchin, A. Embley, O. Wines, A. Morabito, B. Crouch (J. O'Meara, J. Viney)
RUC: T. Goldstein, M. Leuenberger (M. Daw, B. Grundy)
FWD: L. Franklin, D. Zorko, T.Rockliff, S.Johnson, D. Martin, B. Macaffer (B. Staker, T. Lee)
CASH LEFT: $24,500

DEFENDERS
Goddard= In nearly all teams as he should be, will improve on his average last year where he was shuffled around a lot and looked quite unhappy with life at the saints. Should be used as a more genuine midfielder this year, could be the last year we see him as a defender
Gibbs= Much the same reasons as Goddard, should play more as a settled mid this year with his return to DPP status and hopefully the new wonder coach can help him become the player he should be
Grimes= Took big steps last year and should keep improving that average to 100+ i think. Has all the tools and hopefully won't be as burdened with the captaincy. Midfield role will continue to increase.
Broughton- A Greg, my old pal. Always had a soft spot for him, is one of the most natural fantasy scorers there is when played in position and really have no idea what lyon was thinking last year, dominated every time he went in the middle, has been promised a spot in the midfield or across half back so we should see the best of him
Rookies= Hard to really tell at this stage with a lot of good potential options, but Pittard and Stevenson should both slot into port's halfback line, Terlich is a mature age rebounder, as is Osborne who if he gets a chance has tremendous scoring potential

MIDFIELDERS
Ablett= Nuff said
Pendlebury= Underpriced from last year based on what he can do, sensational footballer who was below his best in 2012, again not much justification needed.
JP Kennedy= Mr Reliable, should comfortably be in the top 8 mids come the end of the year and i see no reason why he wouldn't continue that average of 120+
Cotchin= My boy, had him all of last season and he served me very well, he will do the same again in 2013, will relish the job of captaincy, probably the most natural leader i've come across in many years along with Selwood, has yet to reach his peak, completing only his second preseason so his tank will keep improving meaning more contests and more points.
Embley= Not sure why everyone is so off this guy, I think he is great value here. Averaged 95 in 2011, as he has done for many seasons before that. 2012's average came about because of an injury and his return via the substitute bench. I don't think this makes him too much of a substitute worry as come finals time when he was fully fit again he started every match and was one of the Eagle's best performed players, averaging over 100 in the series. Has a game early in round 1 so if named and not the sub is likely to be in my team if he has a good pre-season.
Rookies= Hard to be too insightful at this stage, however wines should get a lot of games and score well as should Viney, same goes for O'Meara and Crouch. Morabito is fantastic value there although im not sure if he is fit to go or not, if he lines up round 1 i'm all aboard.

RUCKS
Goldstein= I still remember being amazed at his 2011 season and I think with a new year and an assured place as the number 1 ruck, there is no reason why he shouldn't return to those heights, will monitor pre-season.
Leuenberger= Awesome Value for someone I think will average 100 and be a keeper for me, thats why i have him as a premium, with Hudson gone he has a full run at that number 1 ruck and should once again flourish
Rookies= These are very much up in the air and could change considerably, depends solely on pre-season and who lines up round 1

FORWARDS
Franklin= Doesn't feel right without him there, he's actually quite consistent which surprised me and you can bet on him being a top 6 forward once again
Zorko= Had a fantastic debut season and as a mature aged player should only keep that 100ppg average and is a very good chance of improving it, kept getting better and better as the year went on
Rockliff= Has stated he wants to go back to the midfield and with him seemingly over his injury niggles and a lot fitter voss would be crazy not to play him there is just about their best midfielder. More then good enough to go back to that 115 average or so
Johnson= Is just insanely talented and I think is underpriced and should have a better year next year. You have to factor in that he was subbed out for a 0 as well as the fact he battled injury for a large part of the season, i think he can return to over that 100 average again, that being said a fit daisy could well steal his spot
Martin= Dusty's time to go bang me thinks, could quite conceivably average upwards of 105 if he pulls himself together, heck he averaged 98 as a 19 year old. There are good signs here for me. The arrival of Chocco Williams should be an enormous help to him and his (probably overstated) off-field issues as well as putting together his on field game. Houli recently said in an interview there has already been a remarkable change in the way he carries himself, he came back to pre-season a few weeks early, where last year he looked a little heavy he know looks lighter and very very fit. From all reports has been the best performed player so far and has taken a greater leadership role on. Sensing a big year from Dusty
Rookies= Maccaffer, Staker and Lee are just generic popular choices at this stage, bar staker im not really sure what my rookies will end up looking like and im dissapointed about Varcoe and Menzel sky-rocketing in price.

Well there you go people, there's my starting point

kilbluff1985

Lots to like. My thoughts re: changes...
Good luck with Embley...I'm not even remotely considering him and would recommend against it and use the money elsewhere.
Same for Dusty. Good luck though...this might be his year.
With Cox, Nic Nat and Ryder all DPP and you not having any in fwd line think you might miss out on having one or two of the top fwds from the get go.

DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, J. Grimes, G. Broughton, J. Pittard, L. Stevenson (D. Terlich, B. Goodes)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, J. Kennedy, T. Cotchin, D. Mundy, O. Wines, B. Crouch, J. O'Meara (J. Viney, K. Mitchell)
RUC: T. Goldstein, M. Leuenberger (M. Daw, B. Grundy)
FWD: L. Franklin, T. Rockliff, S. Johnson, D. Thomas, T. Varcoe, B. Macaffer (B. Staker, T. Lee)
CASH LEFT: $16,900

I think this is probably a safer and better side

Essentially
Zorko- Thomas- Was always looking at doing this if daisy is fit, just going to assume he will be
Martin- Varcoe- Although i love dusty and think he will have a great year, was the forward i had to kick out, Varcoe could well push an 80+ average playing on half back and is training very well apparently
Embley-Mundy- No one shares my love for Embley at all which makes me think that maybe he isn't such a good bet, Mundy is a gun and is very much underpriced for what he will dish out

Goddard could very well average upwards of 110 points, same goes for Gibbs, so they should be locks in any side. Grimes if he stays clear of injuries and get more midfield time should be able to average somewhere around the 100 point mark. Broughton is massively under priced, should get back to his best at GC. Like the Pittard pick. Watch out for Nick Salter, has talent but was held back by injury and is rookie priced. Bench options are good. 8.8/10

The Ablett pick is self explanatory. As you said, Pendlebury is underpriced and had a couple of niggles last year which held him back. Kennedy should continue to be reliable and average upwards of 120 points. Trent Cotchin certainly has the potential to average 120+ppg, really do like him as a POD this year. Mundy should get back to best and average 105+, nice pick especially considering the price! Not a fan of O'Meara or Crouch for supercoach, look at Hrovat to replace one of these. 8.7/10

Both Goldstein and Leuenberger are massievely under priced this year. I'd probably pick Currie over Daw and Witts over Grundy as they are more likely to get game time. 7.9/10

Franklin is highly priced but throws out some huge scores, so what you can to keep him but I dont think this side is going to fit under the cap. Spot on with your reasons for Rockliff. Both Johnson and Thomas are under priced and should have good years. Varcoe should average around 70ppg. Bench options are good. 8.6/10

34/40.

Unlikely this side will fit under the cap, should be able to find the correct prices online somewhere.

No major changes here, just a little to fit under the salary cap, also have a dpp link back/mid but couldnt justify droping viney for a another forward/centre rook as there was no one really appealing, mayes is there so there is one ready to go, i shouldn't need at the start of the season.
