Prospective Zemoke FC 2013 line up

G'day legends,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm determined to take out my friends' league this year so I've decided to do a bit of pre-sesaon research.

Here's what I came up with. Any feedback is appreciated. A lot of the rookies I've only penciled in and aren't married to having them in my side. According to Fan Planner I've got $5200 left under my belt.

Defenders: Goddard, Gibbs, Birchall, Grimes, Pedersen, B. Goodes, J. Pittard, D. Terlich.

Midfield: Ablett, Pendlebury, J P Kennedy, Cotchin, Ball, Varcoe, J O'Meara, B Crouch, J Viney, O Wines.

Ruck: Goldstein, Leuenberger, M Daw, B Grundy.

Forwards: Pavlich, Rockliff, Broughton, LeCras, Staker, T Menzel, J Stringer, J Daniher.

not to bad of a team mate have a few suggestions though

I personally don't think Pederson is worth the price tag i would get a rookie in for him with Pederson i think your spending to much cash in Defense

I would take Grimes or Birchall out and move Broughton to Defense so you can make use of DPP Link with Staker

Mids i like but think your spending to much cash here with Varcoe and honestly a rookie mid will prob average as much as him anyway

now you should have some extra cash for your forwards i would upgrade LeCras don't think his price tag is worth the reward either and after putting Broughton down back you will have to replace him just have 4 decent premiums up forward and down back and see how much cash you have left your team will look more evenly spread

Pedersen -> Vlaustin
Grimes -> Broughton

Varcoe -> Morabito or Mitchell

Broughton -> Franklin
LeCras -> Cox

Sounds like you're a big believer in having a mixture of Premiums and rookies/bargains, and not a big believer in mid-priced players.

Nope. Wouldn't be able to afford Cox, so i grabbed Cloke instead. Left me with this side.

yep that sounds pretty good but not sure if Cox is worth his price tag i think he might decline a but but if you use a DPP link in your rucks he might be worth it like get in Rowe who is a DPP rookie

about mid pricers your right not a huge fan to me it depends on the price and there likely average Leuenberger for example is a good price because he is every chance to average 100+, Varcoe what might he average around 80? can prob get a rookie to average close to that and that's the same reason i don't like LeCras and he is even more expensive then Varcoe

there are some other really good rookie mids that should get games and score well so think you should have these guys instead Varcoe to make more cash

you posted your new team as i was posting this think it looks much better but don't like having 3 talls or key position players (KPP) i would either swap Pav for someone or Cloke for maybe Christensen or however you spell his name

Happy to take any advice on board really. Understand there's a risk with guys like Varcoe and Pedersen.

But see your point about choosing a rookie over a mid-pricer - if I can find the right rookie who's going to average around the same (and make me an extra 200k or so).

Only really became interested in Varcoe after Jock Reynold's write up the other day - described him as an absolute lock http://www.jockreynolds.com.au/2012/12/15/2013-supercoach-radar-5-travis-varcoe/

yeah but i'd prefer to see him as your 5th forward as he should average more then most rookie forwards

you could maybe get someone like Fyfe in for one of your gun 4 mids then can you afford Varcoe as your 5th forward?

Yeah would be reticent to play Fyfe in the midfield. Will strongly consider second line up i posted.
