Melbourne were after him seeing as he was training with them in Darwin

I guess most of the players they invited to train pre season didn't come up to scratch.
Seems like we have gone for a couple of forwards to boost that stock.

Howson, Crichton and Taberner all trained with us - so we took 3 out of the 5 that were training with us.  Taberner was the standout IMO

Sounded pretty devastated to not be at Melbourne. Might require some convincing from the Freo list management and youth development team that Freo is the place to be..

Brad Lloyd was just doing a live chat and he says that he is a very loyal person so its most likely due to the fact he was starting to get along with the Melbourne players.

nah, anyone would be devastated from something like that- he's been training with them for like 2 weeks or something, gets to know them, makes friends etc., is confident that's where his future will be, and goes across the country to a team where he knows nobody.

He'll be right in a couple of weeks.

As hard as it may be,that is football today.
He will be welcomed with open arms here at Fremantle without doubt. The club will bend over backwards,as they do for all new players from the East, and make him feel at home immediately I am sure.
Must be an impressive kid, as he seemed to have won them over at the Dees.

Ricochet

don't think he would be too upset... i'm sure he's happy with just being picked up by an AFL club

Just posted a video of his reaction.  Not as bad as the media made out
