Jeremy Cameron stunned us all at the start of the year, bursting onto the scene kicking big bags against North Melbourne and Footscray and displaying a natural ability as a forward that had many people tipping him to take home the Rising Star.

His fantasy debut was just as impressive, 16 games @ 62.36 for a 196cm forward in the team that won the Wooden Spoon is exceptional. That being said Jeremy isn't going to be a viable selection in 2013. At 330k he is more expensive than players like Bock and LeCras, and is around the same price range as Angus Monfries. Undoubtedly he has talent, but he doesn't quite rival the fantasy ability of those players just yet.

He relies so much on kicking goals, averaging 93 when he kicked 3 or more compared to just 43 when he kicked 2 or less. He's not going to be kicking 3 every week so unless you're prepared to cop those low scores consistently (56.25% of scores 60 or lower) then he won't be starting in your team in 2013.

Could be come one of the most selected forwards down the track though.

Remarkable player, but won't be going near him for the reasons outlined above.

Prediction: +9 71.

nice write up mate. Yeh not yet for Cameron but in three years time I think sides will fear the Cameron/Patton combination.

kilbluff1985

nice one Sid

i look forward to this in a few years Crameri/Daniher vs Cameron/Patton

quinny88

Think he is going to be a great SC player in the years to come but not at this stage. Hopefully packs on a few kg's over the pre season

Adamant

Very impressive season, but can't see him being relevant for another 2-4 years.

nrich102

Good write up Sid. Player of the future, but not this year.

Jay

Too inconsistent to be SC worthy in just his 2nd season
