Jesse Lonergan
Bio
DOB: 14/11/1994

Height: 182cm

Weight: 90kg

From: Launceston

Draft selection: #13

AFL Club: Gold Coast

FanPlanner: $124,200

Position: Midfield

Thoughts
Selected with the thirteenth pick in the 2012 AFL Draft, Lonergan is a strong bodied midfielder with a ferocious attack on the ball. He has been playing senior football for three years now in Tasmania, after debuting as a fifteen year-old for Launceston. The nephew of former Essendon player, Sam Lonergan, recovered from injury to play the final three TAC Cup games, averaging 16.3 disposals and 5.3 tackles. Lonergan is ready made for AFL football with the physique of a seasoned AFL footballer, with a body shape similar to Paul Chapman. Lonergan will be ready to step straight into the Gold Coast line-up given they have lost Josh Caddy to Geelong and fringe midfielder Sam Iles being delisted.

Verdict
Have to seriously look at this kid, barring injury he will play close to a full season and given he has so much senior experience, will produce some handy scores. Is marginally dearer than your basement priced players but could defiantly be worth it with an injury free pre-season.

Prediction
Plenty of games, 81

+ 1, will lock him in if named in round 1. Is ready made to play AFL and the Suns will give him games. Nice work again Shorty!  :)

Saw videos of this guy on their website. He's a big body and definitely ready made. Will certainly be one to consider

Probably wont be able to fit him in the mids :-\ There are a stack of quality options. Nice work.

Wish i could fit him in. But probably no room.
Does the new rule change that we get an extra 2 mid spots change your mind?

I reckon it will for sure, I like the new rule, so many gun midfielders and we could only fit in 6 haha. Going to be good.

I wonder how many (if any) teams will go in with 8 mid prems.

Having that much scoring potential off the bat could make a substantial difference.

The new structure makes him someone to consider along with those like Viney, Jaeger and Wines who I've basically locked in. If he's playing Round 1 he could be locked.

Its a very interesting one in terms of tactics, obviously midfielders have the best scoring potential, but i think many will go with 5 and take the punt on some young guns like viney, crouch etc
