Just worked out that I am going have to use the extra trades during the bye rounds unless tanking with the new structure. 8 mids means you will need to trade each week to avoid donuts in mid. Was just looking at how to structure a team for next year and this hit me.

isnt it the best 18 no mater the postion. So you should be able to go through unscathed if you have a 10/10/10 strucutre as you can have 12 out in one week and survive.
Has that rule been confirmed at this stage.  Have not seen as confirmed but will bow to your knowledge if I have missed it in the actual changes.  Know it was mooted but have not seen listed in any of the changes advised by HS to date.

yeah it's been confirmed

Thanks then KB.  Now that that is a rule Bye Planning is irrelevant as you should be able to get 18 scoring players on the filed and with 3 trades available for each bye round made even simpler. Another rule to make SC easier.

i've just realised another advantage of this structure, it means it will be much easier to have DPP links from your midfield! i don't know about you guys but i've always struggled to fit DPP players in my mids given i only usually started 4 rookies, but with the extra spots there's a good chance i'll be able to start a mid/fwd and maybe even a mid/def like colqs into my midfield! :D

thats a good idea, I have been thinking of that too DPP works even better with the rolling lockout now. Im going 4 premos and 4 mid rookie and will decide if i want guys like stringer in the mid or embley/ball etc..

Grazz

DPP's will be very valuable this year. Solid move squeezing in a few on diferent lines i feel.

yeah thing is i think fwd/mids might be a bit scarce... seems like Menzel and Mayes are the only two rookies that will get it, and they will be pricey and might not even get games this year! :(

Think Rory Atkins from Adelaide will be C/f at rookie price which may assist as well.

yeah sorry i meant there won't be many rookie priced M/F's that will get regular games next year. I don't see Atkins, Kennedy or any of them getting games at their new homes in 2013!
