Traded to the Lions in the 2012 exchange period.  The Lions brought Martin to Brisbane because of his athletic ability and versatile option to play back or forward.
Structurally, a player of Stefan’s ability is critically important as it provides a flexible tall who can be effective both in the ruck and around the ground
Stefan as a natural support ruckman who can cover the ground really well. He presents another marking option up forward, and has also had experiencing playing down back.
The shifting ruck rules seem to suit players with Stefan’s athletic capabilities.
With Brisbane desiring to play 2 Ruckman who can play other positions can see Martin playing from Round 1. Longer is still developing.
With Brown still drawing a double team Martin may get back to his 2011 from. Will have the added advantage of a DPP.
Good mid price option.

Prediction SC score for 2013 85 - 90

Definitely would consider Martin. He was great last year and wasn't to bad in patches this year. What is the chance he will get DPP?

Nige

Could be a nice option, unsure whether I'll take the punt on him.

Combined with Grundy and/or Daniher could make for an interesting MPP link this year. Pretty cheap for a guy that could average 90ish. Will definitely have to consider, the list of forwards I'm considering is getting kind of long though. :-\

Wth Brown, Staker and Martin could get a bit crowded up front...How do you think Brisbane will handle their talls Ringo? You'd think that they'll want to get some game time into Longer as well, even though he's still developing is good enough to demand some game time...

+ 1 a lot of quality mid price forwards.
LeCras, Varcoe, Knights, Martin, Bock, Monfires, Menzel, Gray, Nicoski, Staker

Both Staker and Martin can play back if required. Voss has made no bones that he wants to play 2 ruckman if they can play another position eg Cox/Nat, Berger was interchanging prior to his injury as well.  Can see Martin/Berger combo developing at Brisbane whilst Longer and Michael continue development in the NEAFL.
Not sure whether Brisbane will flirt with 3 talls up front Brown, Martin and Staker but would not be a bad option.

Awkwardly priced. Not quite cheap enough enough to be a cash cow for me, but don't think he is quite a keeper even if he lifts his average to 90ish. Not enough reward for risk for me.

Not a bad player but he's the sort of guy that could put in a few shockers and be dropped as well.
Would consider if he was 100k cheaper

Will have a sneaky look at him if DPP. Might be a bit too awkwardly priced though :-\
