Read in the Herald Sun today that he doesnt think his pre season this year is better than his Brownlow year. Sure it might still be good, but could this mean that he personally isn't confident in his preseason, or am i reading too much into it ?

Blueboys

For the amount he has lost in price from last year, he is a good pick up this year. I would still rate him in any side. Bulldogs have a good mid so should do well this year.  ;D

ronl

Reading far too much into it - stick with him.

Disco

Cooney is having a way better preseason than last year which means his points & value should go up compared to last year.

Prospector_1

What would anyone read into a statement that says you sure haven't had your best preparation this year?

tony73

True, and he is out of contract and sniffing around the GC, I recon he might want a decent year for the next contract deal! Could be one of his last so will need to make it a good one!

At his price the Coondog cannot be ignored IMO.  He may cop a tagger but you would think he has enough experience to deal with that and be a keeper.

Torress

price is too good to refuse - prob a good thing if he gets tagged esp if he is fit. he gets tackled he gets the hands away - cont. possesion and plays well with cross who will set him up. def in my side

Blueboys

Would you rate Murphy from the bulldogs the same as Cooney  ???

cooney > murphy; no doubt
i'm wary of cooney for some reason; just see him as more flash than substance
all things being equal, i'd take a hayes/bartel/pendlebury type before him
