Krakouer set to miss camp

IT APPEARS that Collingwood forward Andrew Krakouer will again be denied the chance to attend the Magpies' American pre-season altitude camp because of visa issues.

Captain Nick Maxwell will stay behind with his wife Erin, who recently gave birth to their second child, while veteran Alan Didak will miss the trip having also recently become a father.

Tyson Goldsack and Dale Thomas will stay behind after having ankle surgery last week. 

Both Pies are poised to return to full training in the New Year, along with former Hawthorn player and free agency recruit Clinton Young.

Young, who arrived at the Westpac Centre in a moon boot last month after post-season surgery on his foot, will go to Utah but won't be in full training until January.

The Pies' latest recruits - Brodie Grundy, Ben Kennedy, Tim Broomhead and Jackson Ramsay, who were drafted on Thursday night in the NAB AFL Draft - will travel, as will veteran ruckman Ben Hudson.   

Defender Alan Toovey will also miss the Utah trip.
