"IT WAS one small step for Melbourne star Mitch Clark, but a giant leap forward in his recovery from a serious foot injury.

On Monday, the key big man took to an AlterG treadmill - the first time Clark had managed to run since suffering a Lisfranc tear in his right foot in the Demons' win over GWS in round 13.

The injury cost the key forward the rest of his season, having booted 29 goals in 11 games.

Clark had the foot operated on in June."

what's he paying for the coleman? :P

Could have been good this year but not sure with Dawes there now too.

Cicjose

Dawes is just going to be the decoy because Jack Watts hasnt developed as well as Melbourne hoped

Barra17

Watts is playing in the backline...?

Yer, I reckon Watts will continue to play down back.
Good to see Clark back, he is a gun.

doesnt change the fact he was recruited as a key forward

Ziplock

heaps of players are recruited in positions and end up carving up elsewhere.

The Ben Reid example is excellent for this situation, is one of my favourite little trivias :)

Ben Reid was a first round draft pick, recruited to play as a forward, and he is now known as a top-notch defender.

Who was his defense coach? Oh yes I know.

MARK NEELD

:o :o :o :o

agree, Watts needs to play in the half back line to get his hands on the ball and play a role similar to Goddard at the Saints

Not that silly really, look at the final goal-kicking tallies for the year. Clark could have won it this year if he'd played (probably not, but a real chance)

Yup, Ben Reid is pretty awesome Purple!

Is it bad that as a Lions fan I want Clark to fail REALLY badly?

Like I'd be happy for him to play 22 games and kick 0 goals and get 10 possessions for the season.
