Steven Motlop looks like a risk not worth taking at first, but when you read this article he suddenly appears as a man to keep your eye on.

While he isn't directly mentioned in the article, it's hard to imagine that those who are will be able to take on all the mid minutes which have become available without burning out. If Motlop does get a big pre-season in and you think he'll get the opportunity to move up the ground he could be a decent smokey.
That being said, it's not a risk that I will be taking. There are too many options at and below his price - Staker, Bock, Winderlich LeCras, JJK, Monfries, Gray...Even Dawes!
Nobody is going to carry all those players in their forward line so chances are if you pick 2 of them at least 1 will come out as a POD most weeks.

He has never cracked a ton either, he has been unable to string 4 quarters of footy together and deliver a big score. Can't be certain as to why but it is a worry for me.
Despite all this I do have faith Motlop will become a great player, just not sure about how good a choice he'd be in 2013.

Not for me, not this year at least. If he shows a bit more (perhaps strings a couple of big performances together) without breaking out I may even consider him as a smokey this time next year...maybe.

Prediction: +9 70

Great writeup mate! :) love your work.

Motlop is so silky as a footballer. He is going to be a very handy player for the cats. As a fantasy prospect though i feel he is a few years off. For a forward pickup you would ideally like it to be someone who takes contested marks and kicks lots of goals ala pav and tex who averaged 100+ or guys that play alot up the ground and on the ball ala danger beams and sidey who all averaged 110+ last year. Motlop atm doesnt get alot of the footy or kick bags of goals. So until he moves up the ground a bit, ill be stearing clear.

Yep Motlop isn't ready to be a fwd premium just as yet

Really loving the way you set these profiles out, looks very professional (and makes mine look terrible :-[)

Wont be going near Motlop in 2013. One to watch in the future though

Another very good write up mate.

I wont be going near Motlop at that price, maybe in 1-2 more years.

Loving your profiles mate! Staying away from Motlop next season tho
