why isn't Gillies given a senior spot

geelong promised Gillies a senior spot for when scarlett retired now they are shutting him out again with trying to recruit rivers don't they have any faith in him?

He seems to find it difficult to keep his place in the seniors. He played a couple of games this season. The fact that they are looking at Jarrod Rivers indicates that they don't rate him highly.

I know the hawks have interest in him have done since last year and Gillies seemed keen to move wouldn't be suprised if he does.

Yeah definitely confusing after they were hell-bent on keeping him even though he requested a trade last year. I don't think that door would be open anymore now that we have Lake so idk where to now for Gillies if Geelong won't give him games :o
