Roughy and NicNat both play as midfielders in the square every so often so I could understand them getting R/F/M

If players like NicNat and bartel would triple position players, then just about every player in the AFL would be at least an DPP. its ridicullous to say that bartel is a dfender when he has played a total of about 1 game in defence.

Jimmy Bartel played in defence alot last year. Just doesn't look so obvious coz he plays mid and forward in the same game. He is the absolute triple position player. Whatever the position of the game is determines where he plays. So slot of games it's mid, forward and back. Now Geelong are confirming this won't change next year.

Bartel, Goddard & Clancee would be likely if they brought in the TPP...cant see it happening though.

Good point, I think someone Lewis and LRT could be part time ruckmen

monstrum

it would be awesome but doubt it'll happen

Bartel the closest for mine but he is really DEF/FWD now and the Cats have written as much is set to be the case for 2013.

Someone who actually spends decent % of time in every position.... rare

monstrum

Bartel will 100% spend more time in the backline next year. does anyone else agree that he would be a great general down there without scarlo alot of games that got away from them this year Jimmy would end up in their goal square directing traffic and being the last line,

With caddy now in varcoe back (hopefully) and other youngsters another year into their careers christensen, duncan, bartel will be more useful elsewhere imo

Colliwobblers

well said mons , right on the money too, he is the classic utility the cats use him where there need is greatest, and with Scarlett gone that will likely be down back....

they have rivers there now and gillies smedts and guthrie should be better next season..... Bartel will not play in the middle much if at all i think defense and forward as required, and you are probably right when they get pressured he will go back and "settle" the defense...
