With Rich not looking the goods, what cheap players are people looking at to replace him or should you stick with him?

Some guys I was looking at are Patrick Dangerfield and Andy Otten from Adelaide and James Polkinghorne from Brisbane.

What do you think? Any others to throw in?

bluebaggers

Its already been all over the press that Dangerfield wont get a run this year due to his lack of committment last year saying he had too mucb study to do.

Rich does look not to be the star everyone predicted.  I'm sure he'll get better but it could be a long slow process.

Otten looks the goods for me.. 2 scores over 60 in 2 NAB cup games shows he can get the ball... I'm on him all day... and Adelaide will be trying new things this year and I exoect plenty of time for new guys

I am going Dangerfield. has had some bad press re his study and fitness committment of late but is very much believed in at West Lakes. If not rd 1 will be very close and should produce.

Bluebaggers, please enlighten me on what sort of press you got that rubbish from. A 'lack of commitment' isn't what i would call doing yr 12.

He 'won't get a run this year'?? I would be willing to put my house on him getting a game this season. Let alone him playing most of the season.

Barring injury, I think that Dangerfield will play round 1 and perform well.
Otten would be my other choice. Probably can't go wrong with either.

Rich will play round 1, put your house on it. Dangerfield will play this year, don't believe the anti-hype, despite attitude, guys like danger demand playing time because they are naturals. so its either or for me, not polkinhorne though, i do like him but there are so many of his type at the lions, may be too sporadic with selecions

otten or polkinghorne, wait till end of pre season

Hawks_1976

Otten and Rich and Polkinghorne looked a little more advanced at this stage. Plenty of hype around Dangers, he is loaded with plenty of natural ability but is going to need time to make an impact. Seen little of him preseason which is a worry.

Why don't you try Anthony from the Roos. Mature age recruit who has been in very good form. Almost a guaranteed starter round one and cheap at 86,600.

valkorum

The big question about Anthony is whether Laidley will start 2 "juniors" with him and Ziebell.

DONT TRUST LAIDLEY ....... EVER

If I had the answer to this question I would be driving around right now in my brand new Toyota Aurion!!!

snozza

Anthony is more likely to play than Ziebel.
