love the banter bow.

now the stats i used are the only ones relevant, we are talking about fantasy scoring here.

because there is no way to say Jetta didnt have a break out year last year. AA squad, leading goal scorer at the club, top 10 in b+f and winner of the swans most improved.

so lets here what you are thinking, make a call prior to the nab. who is in your team right now, will any of them gbe there round 1, no matter the NAB?

bowyanger

Yeah its a tough decision which is why I made this topic.

Ive been burned by following NAB more than once, I wont consider results or form ever again barring injury reports.

These three guys are forwards, other positions I have covered pretty well at this stage. (barring ruck rooks..there arent any standouts)

Last year I took a few players at the 480K - 510K mark and all did pretty well. The only downer I had was Patch Adams, who just when he got put in the arm sling by Juddy, had put together 3 games of 100+ so I was able to make a small profit there and it was an easy upgrade.

I sure do remember Patch Adams spudding up scores of 80 previous to that and spewing at him every  weekend, but having Sidebum, Dangerpants & Beams offset it a little, its hard to get team selection perfect before Rd 1.

I strongly beleive that your RD 1 team is 75% critical in being successful at SC. If you can jag a few break out players that cost you around 450K initially, which occurs often, you have saved yourself trades by not having to get them in. If they dont break out after say 7 rounds, by then you have cows ready, you have a good idea of who is killing the pig and its an easy upgrade.

Generally these 450K players hold their price and are guaranteed to play.

Im very staunch on following the rooks & premiums only tactic, but the green vest is a killer for the rooks you have in your starting 22, coaches are so unpredictable.

I may go with rooks and premiums everywhere besides the forward line, Im not real confident on the forward premiums at the moment.

These 3 are who I see as having the best chance to either go bang or at least easily hold their value for cashing in and getting those premium forwards easier.

At this stage Ive convinced myself to start with all 3, probably throw in or replace one of them with Cloke.

All 3! Wow that is a big set of balls! hope it pays off!

bowyanger

yeah.

it looks munted on paper

You've asked for thoughts on all three, so I'll be concise.

Hurley - by all accounts has been training the house down this preseason. Has a magnificent set of mits on him, and when he finally does go boom, will have a monstrous ceiling.

Walters - will get games, will score reasonably well and WILL fly under the radar for most folks.

Jetta - classy, skillful and quick. However the argument could be made that his breakout year has happened. Will net you good points but I don't see huge improvement.

Walters to me is the pick of the three, as I think he provides an excellent point of difference, and will improve his score by a larger margin than either Hurley or Jetta.

However...when Hurley does go boom, don't you want to be able to say you were on board?

wow nice thread - good read

All 3 is way too risky, I like Walters - set to be this years Clancee but out of those 3? Hurley is the way to go
