CARLTON defender Heath Scotland has escaped conviction and been handed a two-year good behaviour bond by an Albury court on an assault charge.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on Tuesday, while another charge was dropped.

The charge stemmed from an early-morning brawl at the Mulwala Ski Club in Yarrawonga on the Victorian-New South Wales border on January 29.
