Angus Monfries has apparently signed a four year deal with port, probably not dt relevant

Spinking

Probably wrong section then.

First bit of positive news for Port this off season.

Capper

Well he is a player which may be an option for anyone game enough to pick him

I'm not really convinced this is even all that positive for them :-\

I haven't seen anything about this but you're probably right, there were definitely rumours going around about this scenario just didn't know it had been completed or that even an offer had been made.  Averaged 68 this year and I can see him lifting that but he has a career high average of 78. Also pretty expensive for that type of player and won't be putting him in due to Knights, lecras, Byrnes etc.

Hope it works out for Monfries & Port.

They need something positive to come out of the off season.

A coach would be nice.  :P

Monfries is very DT relevant! Is even on my watch list

Ziplock

monfries is probably too small to spend an extended period of time in the mids isn't he? he's more of a small forward aye, like he weighs less than 80kg?

I'd pass on him for DT then- he'll be starved of opportunities in ports forward line.

henry

Sorry to harp on about this but who/what's your source? All I can find is articles about rumours, nothing confirming that the deal has actually taken place.

Angus at the Port Press Conference this morning:

Monfries: "I'm really happy with the faith Port Adelaide has shown in me"

"I've spoken to Ken Hinkley and I'm excited by the direction the club is going"

"There is plenty of upside here and I'm happy to be a part of it"

"I'll be working hard over the pre season to hopefully have an impact in the midfield next year"

"The list is in a lot better shape than what a lot of people think"

He did go close to pushing 80+ last year but at 350k it is a massive risk

Adamant

Any reason why he went from a 78 avg to 68?
Could be ok value if he got back to 80+, but way too risky to take the punt at his awkward price.

henry

Yeah probably won't go with him due to Sylvia about the same price but with far less upside. Knights, Gray, Lecca etc are also cheaper.
