Smith's loss but whose gain? who do youthink will replace him for the first few weeks> Kerridge? Rory Atkins could even be a chance given his performance over the summer. Thoughts?

mcwarne

It may well be Dick Tamblings gain. When Luke Brown went to Milne in the first game it signalled Sandos intention to replace Doughty with Brown as the small back pocket to mind the goalsneaks. But Brodie Smith was to be the half back dasher, something Tambling did with aplomb in both games. On 5AA, Sanderson quietly talked him up as having his best preseason since at the club.

Plenty of players before Atkins

Probably Jaensch or Otten, VB could even fill the role freeing up a mid spot, Tambling could find a spot in the back 6 too

Hagebear

Yeah I think Tambling will get a fair few opportunities of half back early on. Otten will still be around the mark.

So people think he is a genuine chance for round 1?

I heard the Coach on 5AA admit he was his favorite, doesn't explain why he didn't play last year :-\  he could be maturing though

He actually played well for the Crows in both games.

He looked good. Cant believe it, but might have to consider him if he gets an opportunity. Is this a dream sequence?!?!
SLAP!! ...That's crazy talk surely.
Ahhhhhhhhhh my brain hurts.

What Sando mainly said on that radio interview was that Tambling last year struggled to adapt to Sando's signature crash-in style with maximum physicality at the stoppages that was brought in to the Crows game last season. He said that he is has hard as anyone now during preseason. And they have worked overtime on his kicking (which I noticed was much improved yesterday).
Add this to his natural pace and there is a real chance for him to make his mark yet. He is still only 26.
