Im tossing up between a few options, am keen to see peoples thoughts.

I only voted once because IMO Hanley is the only one worth looking at there.

Waters is a gun and will be a top 6 defender, but is still having foot problems and may not be right for round 1.

I would have voted for Birchall, but we are yet to see how Lake will affect him. Watch NAB.

Suckling a massive NO. Extremely inconsistent and won't be anywhere the top 6 defenders, also finishes the year very poor.

I'm not a fan of Hanley, but his early season draw is nice, and he averages like 109 against his first 8 opponents.

Hartlett is super injury prone, but he averaged 87 without sub affected games, and with 44 trades, he is a risk worth taking.

So, with that said...

1. Hartlett
2. Birchall (if Lake doesn't affect him)
3. Hanley
4. Waters
5. Suckling

If Waters is on track for round 1, he would move up to 3rd.

Big potential with Waters but like Hartlett he is injury prone, i guess the difference is Waters Performed really well last year.

The problem with Birchall to me is that he doesn't score that high very often, very consistent though.

I think you might be right, way too up and down.

I didn't realise that but now that you've brought it up he is even more tempting.

That's the massive downside to hamstrings Hartlett, he has enormous talent though. Good point regarding the trades though, might be worth having a punt.

Really appreciate your thoughts, thanks mate

What's the injury situation with waters? I said Hanley and Birchall. But if waters injury isn't bad it would be him over Birchall.

ronl

From what I understand, it was at the serious end of foot injuries.  Best to keep a close eye on how his pre-season is progressing.

ok, thanks

Football Factory

I went Waters and Hartlett if they can avoid injury  :o  this year they will be up there amonst the higher scoring defenders. But i have neither in my team  ;D

Windigo

Hanley is safe. Should improve, but I don't think as much needed for a starting spot.  :-\

Maybe try Hamish. But I still wouldn't go near him.

Jukes

From those I reckon Birchall surely should take top priority.

Then Waters or Hanley. I rate Hanley more but we'll see.
