So I've got 2 trades left and $155k.....

I am going to beef up my midfield which is currently:

Boyd, Ablett, Mitchell, Thompson, Ebert and Rocky.

Rocky and Ebert have been marginal, particularly of late. So thinking of using the cash for 2 upgrades. The only issue i need to watch is if Mitchell does not play.

so IF he does play I am going: Ebert to Murphy & Rocky to Pendles (pending his injury situation as well!)

IF Mitchell does NOT play I will go Murphy & Cotchin.

Who would you keep out of Ebert & Rocky in that situation?

Will cheer.

Ziplock

Keep rocky, hasWBD and PA left- he shreds weak opponents.

Brad1976

Keep Rocky weaker opponents and has much higher ceiling.

Artax

Keep Rocky..

Are all your other lines stacked?

The forwards are:

Side, Danger, Beams, SJ, Chappy, Zorko, Goodes, (Martin/Milera)

Rucks - NO:

Giles, Kruezer...(that said though Kruez now doing better he is FT in ruck role and has GC this weekend)

Backs - NO:
Lids, goddard, Scotland, Carrazzo, Suckling, Lake, s.Shaw (Ellis, Delaney) This was other area to trade into with likes of Birchall and/or Waters but felt that Rocky and Eberts performances vs. my competition (their backs also have gaps and they are low on trades) is where it will be won and lost.

Looking like Rocky though ATM who will stay and Ebert go if Mitchell does not play. Might keep Rocky anyway and put Birchall in for Lake otherwise.

do your self a favor and get in jack Grimes

yeah has been a thought given only 2 games to go i think he's flown the coop on price for me and to also fit Murphy for Ebert. Birch is probably the only one priced well enough.

If i took Birch over Lake the difference using last 5 game average is only 71.2 (Lake) vs 85.2 (Birch) & 85.4 (Waters). Grimes much bigger at 110 which is worth it but only leaves $18k left for last upgrade.

On the mids front if i went Ebert (85) to Murphy (110) and Rocky (82.5) to Pendles (110). so collective upgrade of 52.5 points using last 5 games. I know this is flawed to some point as Rocky could come out and smash it! But nonetheless this is the thinking.

Not worth upgrading your mids when they are going ok... and only gaining about 20pts. Might as well trade up your rookies from the other lines, and getting much better scores.... Doesn't matter if their mids are stronger than yours, if you can beef up your defense/ruck/forward lines....

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter about who wins the midfield, its who gets more points.
Say you upgrade Rocky/Ebert to Cotchin. Rocky/Ebert might get 95, and Cotchin might get 110, only 15 points but Ebert & Rocky have potential to average 105+ anyways, especially with Rocky coming up against weak teams.

But if you upgrade say S.Shaw to Birchall, you might go from 60 points to 90 points, which is 30 points. You are more likely to win if you score an extra 15 points.... Not if you win the midfield.... ::)
