As you know very passionate Lions supporter but there are times when you must query the hierachy as per the article above on stalling Blackies 1 year contract renewal.

Why or why are we stalling the extension of this contract for this great stalwart of the Lions.  He will not be going anywhere and will sign but why put him through this after the fiasco of last year when he wanted 2 years and was signed to 1 with benchmarks to be achieved.  He achieved the benchmarks had another outstanding season and now we raise the bar again.  He is Lions through and through both on and off the field and should be given this final year contract without question.

Know Kerr is in charge of the list but surely recognition of a true champion at the Lions should take precedence and allow him to achieve the playing records. Do not believe his work ethic will slacken.  Do not want another Luke Power episode.

Rant over!!,

Melbourne played hard-ball with it's old brigade and look what happened to them.

The Lions need someone like Black, and even though Black won't be part of the next premiership at the Lions, he can guide some young cubs who could.

Simon Black, along with Pav, are just about my favourite non-Collingwood players. The guy is a superstar, and still clearly in the Lions best 22.

So you're predicting he won't play next season?

Completely agree Ringo he is being treated really unfairly. He is a superstar and hopefully this can all get sorted out nad he can play for another year or two.

Agree, he should be given a renewal every year for as long as he wants. Black, Hayes and Bartel as my favourite non Pies.
