Round 20 Supercoach Upgrades and downgrades!

Hey guys for anyone is interested I done an article on Supercoach Headquarters

With finals in the air- I'm going to hand the reins over to a new writer for SCHQ - Matt will take you through the prime trade-downs and upgrades for the first week of SC finals. It's make or break time!

With the first week of Supercoach finals this week a trade might be what your team needs to continue your hunt for Supercoach bragging rights and glory!

Rookies - About to burst:

Alex Browne - $113 200 Defender

Browne has broken into the bombers line up with the amount of injuries they have had and with scores of 50 and 79 he looks like he could stay there. With a breakeven of â€"57 Browne could be handy bench cover for your team.

Steve Wrigley - $94 700 Defender

With the Lions season over they will start to blood the kids and Wrigley should stay in the Lions line up for the rest of the year and with a breakeven of â€"31 he is a cheap downgrade option in your backline.

Freshmen - Playing their first game:
Jackson Allen (Gold Coast)
A late draft pick from the most recent draft, Allen is a tough footballer with brilliant kicking skills. Could do a lot worse, but might find it difficult to consistently hold his spot.

Tim Golds (GWS)
There are big rapts on Golds and the Giants took the Xavier College boy as quickly as possible, as a 17 year old last year. We'll see plenty of him next year.

The best options to bring in this round are:

Defenders

Michael Johnson - $398 500

As much as we think Zac Dawson is a spud, he is very important to Fremantle’s structure and Michael Johnson’s SuperCoach scores. When Johnson and Dawson both play in the same team Johnson averages 97 but when Dawson is out he only averages 76. This is because McPharlin always gets the opposition teams best forward while Dawson will get the 2nd best and allows Johnson to play loose in defence, but with Dawson out Johnson has had to play on the 2nd best forward which has been hurting his Supercoach score. With Dawson now back in the team Johnson is someone I would look at to bring in at only $398k and a DEF/FWD DPP!

Matt Suckling - $377 200

2012 has been an inconsistent year for Matt Suckling. He has scored over 100 Supercoach points 6 times while also scoring under 50 points 3 times. If you are looking for value, than Suckling’s your man. He has an achievable breakeven of 86 and should bounce back against the Power and Suns in the next 2 weeks.

Midfielders

Marc Murphy - $521 900

Murphy has been averaging 125 in his last 3 games and he is yet to dip under 100 since returning from his injury. With a breakeven of 61 it will be the last week Marc Murphy will remain cheap and with games still against the Lions, Bombers, Suns and Saints, Murphy should finish the year really strong.

Scott Pendlebury - $606 400

Pendlebury has been great since returning from his leg injury averaging 130 points. With Dane Swan out for the next 2 games, Pendlebury should steal some of the points Swan would normally take off him. Also with the emergence of Beams and Sidebottom they could get a tag ahead of him. With a breakeven of 122 and big games against Sydney, North, West Coast and Essendon, Pendlebury should have a stellar end to the season.

Ruckmen

Nic Naitanui - $536 800

The excitement machine ‘Nic Nat’ has had a great year having 7 games where he has scored over 110 and only 2 games where he has scored under 80. He is great value at $536k and with a breakeven of 95 he is a great choice. Naitanui also plays teams with weak ruckmen and should dominate: the Cats (O.Stephenson), the Power (Lobbe), the Magpies  (Jolly) and the Hawks (Bailey and Hale).

Forwards

Taylor Walker - $449 100

Walker has a great finals draw with games coming up, and with matches against the Dockers, Lions, Dees and Suns, he should get back to his best form. Walker only in 6.11% of teams will be a great point of difference for your team. After already missing 5 games through suspension he will not get rested.

Adam Goodes - $427 900

Goodes is super cheap and with a score of 116 last week he should get back to his best. With big games coming up against the Magpies, Bulldogs, Hawks and Cats, Goodes will need to be at his best if the Swans want to have a top 2 finish!
