Current issues: Stanton, Broughton & Hmac

Like most people I find the feedback on here very helpful.

Currently thinking

Hall --> McIntyre for cash
Stanton --> Watson

This will leave me enough cash for Broughton --> Waters next week.

Reason looking at stanton is because he keeps dropping in price and will cost me a final if i keep him with his shower scores.

Any suggestions on what you would do with my team?

With 6 trades left that plan sounds perfect. HMac will be back this week, if not the one after, so will slot in nicely as your R2. There might be some better options than McIntyre, but wait for the teams tomorrow and grab a rookie who's playing.

what about starting with darley > bell and broughton > waters this week

......you have gibson as cover for stanton, so can leave trading him until next week

Would you have cash to do something like Broughton - Suckling and Stanton - Jelwood? I'm on the iPhone and DT apps clutching so can't personally check any prices. If there's no carnage the round after then you could even look to downgrade Hall then and upgrade Lake, Ellis or Adams to a topline player. If it does all go to hell then you've still got plenty of trades to work around it

I like your original plan. Deal with the outs at the moment and do a final upgrade next week.

Great team w 6 trades left firstly.  Would love to have those 5 premium pies like yourself.

Personally I'd go Broughton to Fisher (289k) and Lake to Waters (441k) this week (leaves you with 17k / 4 trades).

Then I'd wait and see with Stanton.  If he's only going to miss 1 week or no weeks - I'd stick with him.  He does this every year, comes out of the gates like a raging bull, tires, slows, then finishes off last 5 games very well.

Also wait and see with HMac.  I'm not actually confident they'll bring him back at all - look at how well they've gone in his absence.  You can afford to wait this one out till sudden death in finals with Giles as backup.

If both of the above fail and are not named for 1st round of finals next week - you will have enough cash to go Stanton to Fyfe (380k w BE 81) and HMac to Jacobs or whichever ruck you want.

This would leave you with showerloads of cover and all your leaks fixed, still with 2 emergency trades for finals.

And if you don't trust Fyfe - pickup Stevey J in 2-3 weeks once his 1 has filtered through enough... Although many will say don't go Fisher, he sucks new roll etc etc, at least the above trading options give you 4 effective upgrades and fix/finalise your team without the need for any downgrades.  You will need those 2 trades come prelim/GF... guaranteed.

I've just had a look at everyones suggestions and looked at scores for each player, from this i'm going to aim to bring in the best players I can for the remainder of the season.

Leaning towards Watson in but like the idea suggested to maybe downgrade darley to bell and broughton to waters this week. I would need Watson though not to get to much more then his breakeven. I can use hall to downgrade later when i need more cash again.

Stevie J or Fyfe to come in later on if im lucky enough to have a luxury trade available in the last couple weeks. Looks like hmac is playing this week for north as not selected for foxtel cup final so i can watch how he goes.
