Who would you like to see in our jumprs next year?

AFL free agency article:

PORT ADELAIDE
Free agents: Troy Chaplin, Danyle Pearce (restricted), Domenic Cassisi, Brett Ebert, Steven Salopek, Jacob Surjan (unrestricted)
Update: The Power re-signed Cassisi in March, so it's likely he will end his career at Alberton. With Surjan and especially Ebert entering the twilight of their careers, most expect them to remain at the Power next year. Richmond has been linked to Chaplin in recent times, although the Power maintain they're in negotiations to re-sign him. Salopek's form and run of injuries at SANFL level will likely ensure 2012 is his last on an AFL list, but Pearce shapes as the biggest question mark. He hasn't re-signed and would command strong interest from rival clubs. His pace and skills would compliment any side and he might benefit from a fresh start.
Potential targets: The Power need more class on their list so free agency might see them make several plays.  Essendon's SA natives Angus Monfries and Henry Slattery could be fine acquisitions, although Slattery has only played one game this year. Hawthorn's Clinton Young would add to Brad Ebert and Matthew Broadbent in the midfield, while cross-town rival Chris Knights would slot straight into the Power's starting 22.
From the club: "We have to worry about the players we have here, but we'll also target the players who we think are coming into free agency and who will complement us." - Power coach Matthew Primus.

I would like to see Jed Adcock come to Port his run of half back will be very important to our club, Also he can be a great mentor for other guys such as Pittard, Moore and Jonas amongst others.

A medium size forward would also be welcome to join the likes of Butcher, Ebert, Rodan, Westhoff Schulz and Hitchcock in the forward line and all of a sudden it becomes a more dangerous forward line. Knights or Dunn would seem to be the best fit there.

My best 22 for 2013

Full Back: Jacob Surjan, Alipate Carlile, Paul Stewart
Half back: Jed Adcock, Jackson Trengove, Danyle Pearce
Centre: Travis Boak, Dom Cassisi, Jon McCarthy
Half Forward: Robbie Gray, Jay Schulz, Justin Westhoff
Full Forward: Cameron Hitchocock, John Butcher, Chris Knights
Ruck: Brent Renouf, Hamish Hartlett, Matthew Broadbent
I/C: Kane Cornes, Ben Jacobs, Troy Chaplin
Sub: Steven Salopex/ David Rodan/Chad Wingard/Andrew Moore/Tom Logan/Jaspar Pittard

I can tell you now that Salopek will not be at Port Adelaide next year. Pearce may be another they'll move on, as there's plenty of others that can play his role, and we could pick up someone better where we need it.

Troy Chaplin is linked to Richmond, so he may go aswell.

Also have a feeling that Cassisi will retire, and Boak will be given the captaincy.

If we want a medium sized fwd, why not get Angus Monfries back in Adelaide? Or maybe Travis Varcoe?

Guys like Ben Jacobs, Tom Jonas, Aaron Young, Andrew Moore, Chad Wingard are being played over someone like Salopek/Hitchcock and even Logan, and with Hartlett and Gray out, they are given more opportunity. This is where Port needs to put's it's focus, and i congratulate Matthew Primus for playing these guys most weeks. (Great to see Pittard back tonight too)

PB you don't rate Hitchcock? I think he could be a good player if he gets a string of games going. Had a feeling either Casissi or Cornes would retire.

For some reason I think Salopex would be a good fit at Carlton or the Western Bulldogs.

I think even when he's fit the other are being named over him. :-\ I don't really rate him as highly as the others, and i'd like to see Port develop those 5 i mentioned earlier (Young, Moore, WIngard, Jonas, Jacobs) and have Robbie Gray stay up forward and not run through the midfield as much.

We have a brighter future than what many say, the side we have is very young.

Jed Adcock
Gus Monfires
Clinton Young
Chris Knights

and if Pearce gets pciked up by someone else maybe Will Minson?

They would be the ones I would get.

Next year will be the year we push for the 8. Butcher/Schulz/Westhoff could very well kick 100+ goals between them next season. Going to make things very tough if they include Nick Salter who can play KPP at both ends. Our Backline is coming along nicely. If we can blood some debutants later this year Blee and Ah Chee amongst others and get more game time into the players you mentioned PB we will have a great 2013.

McRooster

Three words 'mature age rookie'.

Selfishly I'd like to see James Allan get a go in 2013, after he wins his 4th Magarey medal this year and on the recommendation of former  Power player and current Roosters Coach, Josh Francou.
