Ok, so here's the deal. After reading the "Bargain ruck" and "Bargain midfield" posts, I set about creating a team based on both these theories.

The result is interesting. Here's the team.

BACKS
B.Goddard
R.Hargrave
A.Carrazzo
L.Hodge
P.Duffield
L.Henderson
L.Greenwood

J.Smith
J.Allen

MIDS
G.Ablett
C.Masten
M.McVeigh
R.Crowley
J.Trengrove
D.Martin

L.Shuey
R.Bastanic

RUCKS
T.Vickery
R.Warnock

M.Lobbe
J.Trengrove

FORWARDS
N.Riewoldt
A.Didak
R.O'Keefe
M.Pavlich
R.Murphy
K.Tippet
P.Dangerfield

T.Dennis-Lane
L.Tapscott

After the math is done, the money distribution comes out like this:

Backs - $2,658,200
Mids - $1,813,700
Ruck - $488,000
Forwards - $2,830,900
Bank - $148,700

For the time being, I'd ask anybody reading to disregard the actual players themselves which are in the team, and focus on what kind of players they are (eg. Premiums, cash cows, etc). What I mean is, there is no guarantee that I won't have Bartel in place of Ablett come start of the season, or Franklin in place of Murphy, and so forth.

As is obvious, the team is heavily forward biased. The amount of "Keepers" pans out as;

Keepers:

Backs - 5
Mids - 1
Rucks - 0
Forwards - 6

Whilst this may look poor at the moment keep in mind that I've only listed "Keepers" as players who are almost guaranteed to play every week and pose a good score. I haven't included players like McVeigh who are questionable.

What this means in that if I want to have my team loaded with premiums come end of the season (injuries and suspensions not-withstanding) then I shall only have to upgrade 1 Forward and 2 Backs. Now, as I think it's almost impossible for a team to be completely full to bursting with Premium players, this leaves us with the Midfield and Ruck to worry about.

Basically, what I'm here to ask all of you is this. Are the risks of this team outweighed by the benefits? The cash-potential-player loaded midfield and ruck worth using for a loaded forward line? I'm very apprehensive resting my Midfield almost solely on Abletts (very capable I may add) shoulders. And the fact I have 2 starting rookies in the ruck also has me concerned.

Any advice you can give would be appreciated, as I haven't been at Dreamteam nearly as long as some others, and want this year to be a good one.

Cheers  :D

Well I don't think that looks so bad!

FLOPITOUT1

not bad idea got any spare cash i reckon nic nat will score allright this season more than vickery imo

BU1101

I reckon those rucks are going are going to hurt you but the midfield seems to work.

Bluke

Upgrade one of your rucks with cash in bank, otherwise it looks good. Nic Nat would be a good choice. He will play every game unless he gets injured. Warnock Lobbe and Trengrove probably wont...

ATEAM

I rekon move tippet to rucks, warnock to bench, drop 1 of the other 2, pick up medhurst
