Does this leave me okay for the run to finals?

Which one?

5 trades left - Roughie in Fwds - Mohr out AND Redden -> Campbell
3 Trades left - As above plus Big O-Pattison AND Adams->Goodes

Inside the top 5000 overall but just in the 8 in a tough league and with some tough games coming up I am looking to trade hard.

7 trades left and $80K.

Current team

Def - God, Lids, Scotland, Shaw, Broughton, Lake, Mohr (Darley, Shaw)

Mids - Pendles, GAJ, Watson, Jelwood, Thompson, Priddis (Gibson, Adams)

Rucks - Cox, Giles (Big O, Redden)

Fwds - Buddy, Sidey, Danger, Martin, Zaha, M. Johnson, Zorko (Treloar, Smedts)

I want to move Johnson down back for my last upgrade Johnson -> Mohr then Roughead in Fwds

The idea for this is to then bring in Pattison for the Big O or Redden. This gives me the cash to get Roughie and give me the Ruck/Fwd DPP.

So this move OR do I get Campbell in this week for the cash, still get Roughie. I have a gimmie game next round which will mean I can make no trades, then week after Goodes will have bottomed out and can trade out the other ruck of Redden/Big O for Pattison and trade out Adams to Goodes.

Is 3 trades left enough? for last 3 rounds and finals? Team will be complete with plus 1 premos.

Cheers

if it is the league finals you care about then do nothing until 2 rounds before them or even 1 round before them.

the DPP ruck roughead and johnson back trades a nice one. But if finals is your objective is there any need to do it now? your team seems solid enough to win you enough games to make the finals?

risk with 3 trades left and zorko playing if you get a couple of long term injuries you have no trades left to trade rested players during your league finals.

i'm playing for overall and the finals will go how they go so i would do the trades now for maximum points every round, but you may be best holding off as long as you keep winning enough league games to get to your finals

good luck.

Yeh thanks Colliwobblers. League will be touch and go, I'm ranked 4th in total points and playing 1st, 2nd and 5th ranked by total points. I'm 7th on the ladder so tough run home. But may be better to back my team in and save some more trades, worth thinking on.

I like the idea of Roughie/Pattison as this covers Giles too and I'm not sold on him. But Rouhie costs more and I am constantly thinking it may be worth using less trades and getting Campbell in and Goodes in in a week or 2. Would go Carrots but waiting on Goodes lets me do the Johnson move down back and the link with Smedts.

Decisions, decisions

Your team is reasonably strong. I would also sit on the 7 trades and use when needed  firstly if required to in the top 8 and then all out attack on finals.  You will be very strong if you go into finals with 5/6 trades as most will be low on trades. In saying that I would keep an eye on any downgrade options that may come to increase cash.

Your decision though,

PICCOLLO

The roughy dpp trade is very smart (done it myself). But waiting could be best, although zaha out does weaken your fwds and roughy would slot in there nicely. Tempting....

thebrock

Thanks for the advice guys. Tempting of course to hold back, with Dusty out though I'd struggle to win this week as my opponent has buddy & Martin but not Zaha. I'm thinking my main downgrade options are the rucks anyway as they've topped out. So may get in roughie and Campbell this week. Will need roughie to cover Zaha/buddy/Martin over the next 2 weeks anyway so can hold off on getting pattison till then. No point getting him it I can't use the DPP for now. Leaves me with 5 trades then 4 in 2-3 weeks. Seem more sound? Might miss the boat on a cheap Goodes but 4 trades versus 3 seems smarter for finals.
