starting squad of 1 extra bench player per line, in the bye rounds have a reduced number on field counting towards ur score (6def, 5mid, 2ruck, 6fwd or something).

and give us lots more trades!

fever

and zip that wall of text was way tl;dr :P

nostradamus

l would like to see a system for the byes that gave us  extra trades, for that round only, that then reverted back after the completion of the round.

These being over and above the standaerd allocation of trades.

.....l'm at work so havent got time to explain properly now, but will get back on later to elaborate on my idea

Been thinking on this and this is a suggestion I am putting out there.

When naming our initial 30 players We also name 3 players on supplementary bye list of players value not to exceed $400k.
During bye rounds we can use these players to supplement the 6 bye rounds. May be a bit hard to administer though. One of the conditions would be that these players are to remain on the supplementary list and must be only used during bye matches.

Do not think it would make SC any easier as you would be excluding 3 cash cows up front.

ok, l will expand on my idea now.....

1. we start the season with the normal 24 trades and 2 benchies

2. for each bye round we get an extra 2 trades, these do not have to be used but do not accumulate.

3. trades done with the "extra" trades revert back after the completion of that round

4. the total value of player(s) traded in shall not exceed that of the players traded out

5. these are totally separate from our normal trades

6. and we can still make 2 normal trades over the bye rounds too if we want

7. so in effect we can potentially make 4 trades each bye round, but any made with the "extra" trades will revert back at the end of the round

.......there you go guys, l hope l explained it well enough. Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas on how to improve on it.

Cheers, Nostradamus

'AFL CEO, Andrew Demetriou has declared that the 2013 AFL Season opener will be held at Etihad Stadium. But will not force Richmond and Carlton to move there blockbuster there. Demetriou also said that there would be 22 games with 2 byes included for each team, meaning 18 rounds of 9 games and 6 rounds of 6 games.'

6 flowering multibyes with 6 teams out in each...

unless there is a massive rule overhaul for DT/SC I'm going to seriously consider stopping my fantasy football habits.

seriously

what the flower.
will there be 6 rounds of 6 games??? Cant see it mentioned in the article

Ziplock

well, its implied by saying there'll be two rounds

there was an article that said it explicitly, hence the quote, but I dunno where it is.

i thought that 2 rounds would mean that every team will have 2 byes over 2 rounds.

Surely they will spread it out like last year and have a bye every round (with a couple of rounds with 2 teams having the bye) or from R4 to R21, two teams will have a bye each week

Luigi197

If you think about it, its not all that bad. Think about it from a player's point of view.

I personally think we've just gotten used to 24 straight rounds, and, if we continue all these byes, the future generations will look back upon 24 straight rounds with no byes and think we are idiots.

Ziplock

they should just have designated weeks with no games- its fairer to the teams that way (as well as fantasy footballers :P ), since you don't get the edge of the extra rest or w.e.

+1 or the other alternative if the want the money have the byes over 2 weekends with 4/5 games first byes weeks and 5/4 game second bye weeks.
